This "vintage card" was given last night to the "wine man" Dennis and his wife. It was a quick card using a Woodware Stamp for the background and a MFP stamp on the foreground panel. I wanted to use lace on the card but as it was for a guy went for sparkly ribbon in neutral colours. I have had the Woodware stamp a while but have only used it a few times so decided to pull it put and show it some ink.
I am entering this card in the following challenges

FOSTV 59 - Non Traditional Valentine
Another week, another Monday and a new Friends of Speedy TV challenge. I hope despite the grotty weather this week finds you warm and well. This part of the UK has been spared most of the snow this time around but the skies are horribly grey and sleet is coming down so pretty yuck! In the north it has been bad and I know the USA East Coast has had a really bad pounding. When you can't get out there is a good excuse to pull out your stamps and craft.
The FOSTV challenge this week is to make a Non Traditional Valentine - now this might take a bit more thought but I am sure you can do it. If you can don't forget to link your creations back to the Speedy TV site and this week's challenge - FOSTV59.
I actually have two cards to show today.
The first one is actually not too crazy and uses the recently released set called Fantastic Dogs. I used the mirror stamping technique to get the dogs facing each other.

The sentiments are from the same set and also from Love Remains. The tiny heart is from Pet Logic. I am entering this card for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge "Love is in the Air" and Stampin with the Dragon challenge with the same theme.
My second card is even more mad but I am going to share it none the less. My image is from New Pines with sentiments from Above the Rest and the hearts as above. I also used the background from Cracked Hello.
Now it is your turn to get creative and turn out a Non Traditional Valentine. The set to be won by someone this week is called Kilt Fun.
Good luck!

Butterfly Thanks
Sorry I am on a butterfly thing right now so my second card today also contains a butterfly. This one uses stamps from Gina K (retired I think) and a butterfly from Penny Black.
The card uses today's Jugs sketch and is for that challenge as well as Sentimental Sundays 139 from last weekend which is a Thank You card challenge. The papers are from Stampin Up and Memento Inks and Copics were used plus some ribbon and gems from my stash.

Christmas is fast approaching
I was writing our Christmas cards and I realised I did not have one suitable for my Nephew.
He is the one that supports Fulham Football club, hence the very non-traditional colours of black and white.
The stamped image is from High Hopes and the other elements were die cut using my new Cricut whch I am still learning to use.
I am entering this card for 3 challenges
Jugs165 - Sketch challenge
High Hopes Challenge 158 - Anything High Hopes
Sentimental Sundays 131 - Non Traditional Christmas Colours
Thanks for looking. Hope you are having a good week.

Get Well Soon
This card based roughly on SC409 is for Carol who I used to work with to give to her Brother in Law who is undergoing hip surgery.
The image s from Clear Dollar Stamps and the bedding colours are for Brighton & Hove Albion football club who he is a passionate supporter of. The image is digital so it was layered up - lots of fiddly cutting!
I am entering the card in the Sentimental Sundays challenge from last Sunday.
Get well wishes to anyone out there in blog land who is feeling poorly right now.

Mistletoe, roses, romance and many hastles!
I hope the guy I have made this for and his wife love this card. I had rather a troubled time making it.
I knew in my head some of the things I wanted to get onto the card but working out the design had me stumped. I then had a few die cutting issues so improvised a little. All was going well until I decided to print and stamp onto the pearly card. I heat set it which made the card warp a little but once well stuck down was OK - as I completed the card and went to photograph it I noticed the printing had smudged!
At that stage I had to pull it apart and start the printing again on a plain card. I liked the pearl but if it won't work....
The panel behind the couple in the window is stamped with a Penny Black stamp which has holly (left grey) and mistletoe on it. The rose is a Marks Finest Papers (a Heinrich Company) image. The colour of the leaves I am hoping matches the colour for their wedding - I saw a quick phone picture! The dies are from Cheery Lynn. The sentiment is computer generated and the corner punching and bling finish it off.
I am entering this into Sentimental Sundays challenge too - I hope off-white is OK!
Thanks for looking.

Dragon Boy!
My Mum wanted a card for my nephew so this is what I came up with. It uses sketch challenge sketch 406 and Sentimental Sundays challenge to use black, white and a colour. The image is a digital one from Bugaboo stamps. With a little paper piercing and plenty of red Welsh dragon colouring it was mainly done.
Thanks for looking - avoid the dragons today!

Dashing through the snow!
For my FOSTV distressing challenge please see post below
Sometimes I am spoilt for choice and today that was the case - stamps to choose, ideas in my head but where to start?
I started with this High Hopes image which is so cute and coloured it so I could give it to a nephew who supports Chelsea. The sketch is SC239 and I am entering the card for High Hopes Winter Wonderland, Sentimental Sundays anything goes as well as counting it for my CCC12 allocation in October.
I coloured the image with Copics (B29, B28, B26, B24, B23, R39, R37, E49, E47, E44, C5,C3, C1, E43, E41 and some B000) and the background with Pan Pastels. The papers are from Doodlebug - for once I remembered to check before I stuck them down.
I hope you like the card. Thanks for looking

Autumn Splendor is my favourite set this month and my first card uses the sketch SC402. I used a new to me technique on the vertical strip using a highlighter pen and distress ink. The main image was coloured with Copics. I used an M-bossabilities folder on the horizontal panel. I am entering this card in the Sentimental Sundays challenge.
Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!) All four winners will be announced on September 29, 2012 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!) My second card is a thank you card. It is going to the carers in the home where my Mother in Law was while we were in the USA enjoying ourselves a few weeks ago - the carers did a brilliant job. Again it was coloured with Copic markers. 2 stencils were used on the background and 2 different coloured distress inks.

A Level Congratulations
Our niece in North Wales received some great news this week - she got a call from Liverpool University to say they had a place for her to study veterinary science if her A level results were good enough. Later the same day she got her A level results and they were better than she needed - 2 A* and an A. I haven't spoken to her but apparently she is thrilled.
Apart from my Design Team commitments I have not made many cards in recent weeks or entered any challenges. This card is for two challenges - the one from last Sunday at Sentimental Sundays and the colours from todays Jugs challenge. The card I have made for her uses a doggy image from MFP and a sentiment from the same set called Fabulous Dogs.
Thank you for checking in.

CCC12 July - Marathon
Sorry but this is one large collection - all 12 of my July Christmas cards for CCC12. Some of them are also for other challenges so I will add the challenges to each photo. None of the cards are fancy but I left it too late this month. I have used dies, punches, alcohol inks and all sorts of stamps on this bunch.

New Challenges over at MFP
In case you missed it there are all sorts of new challenges over at Marks Finest Papers Speedy TV as well as tutorials and ideas.
There is a challenge this week as part of Simple Salutations to use an animal. Now I did not end up with a simple card as I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch and combined it with both Stampin Sisters in Christ and Sentimental Sundays challenges. My card uses pink, kraft and lace (as well as flowers, pearl, stamp and die cut - if I had added some twine with a charm attached it would have been full house!). I used 2 digital papers and embossed one with a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder and then used Frayed Burlap distress ink on the raised parts. The fancy brown edge was done using Spellbinders dies. The flowers are sprayed with glimmer mists. The image and sentiment are from a set by Marks Finest Papers called North American Woods.

USA / UK Celebration
This card is for a Wedding in the USA for someone with English connections - red, white and blue is therefore correct for both. It uses an image from Lili of the Valley with a Hero Arts background cling stamp. I had a bow and a ribbon to add but decided to leave them off as it needs to be mailed and thickness could be an issue and the simple gems I think added enough without detracting from the central panel.
I am entering the card in this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge to be patriotic. Thank you for looking and have a good week.

Victoria says Relax
This card was given today to my Osteopath who I sadly saw for the last time as she is concentrating her work closer to where she lives. Victoria has helped me through some stressful periods and has been an encouragement to me as well as the one who fights to release my knotted muscles - I will miss her.
My card uses a cute Penny Black image of a cat in a lovely lavender scented bubble bath - something Victoria recommended often! The mouse enjoys it too!
The card is using colours and theme from this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge and flags / bunting to fit with the Penny Black and Stampin Sisters in Christ challenges. I have used Spellbinders dies, Memento ink and Copics. I have captured a close up to hopefully show you the glittery bubbles - obviously went to Lush for the bath products!

FOSTV - Father's Day
Father's Day is a sad occasion for me because I lost my Dad when I was only 19 and my Father-in-Law about 7 years ago. However as I sell cards at work I have made a couple of Father's Day cards using Marks Finest Papers stamps.

The first one uses sketch SC323 and an image from the set Big Boys Toys plus an embossing folder to add a bit of a texture to the papers, which I then sanded.
I used Copics to colour the image.
The second card uses the Sentimental Sundays sketch and an image from the set being offered as a prize to one lucky participant who joins in the fun at this week's FOSTV challenge. This is a simple card but shows how easy it is to make a card with these masculine images. The set is called Get Reel and my card just uses some patterned paper as a background. The flags and buttons finish it off!
I am also entering this card in the Pan Pastels challenge for a Father's Day card.

Two More Christmas Cards
This post is Christmas related - sorry I know we are only just seeing the sunshine. My cards will be for my CCC12 commitment for June but are also for other challenges.
The first card is for the Sentimental Sundays and High Hopes challenges. Sentimental Sundays is a sketch with Spots and High Hopes this week is Anything Goes. The image is High Hopes, the sentiment is from Tim Holtz and the papers are from Papermania.

My second card is for today's OCC challenge to use your favourite Tim Holtz technique. Well I can't say this is my favourite technique because today was the first time I tried it but I saw Tim on a video showing his reflections stamps and I had to get them. I found out how to use them with embossing folders so that is what I did on this card. The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and I used the Seasonal Reflections Christmas sentiment stamped in Archival black. The sponging was done with Bundled Sage Distress ink and the berries were coloured with a marker.

Don't get the hump
This card featuring another fun High Hopes image is for the challenge HHC137 (May Flowers) and also for F4A118 to use Hot Pink and lastly for today's Sentimental Sundays Challenge. The card is on it's way to someone I used to work with and I think she will like it. The image is coloured with Copics markers and the sentiments are computer generated.

BBB Birthday Wishes
The challenge at Sentimental Sundays is a Birthday card and B embellishments - bling, border and bow are what I have managed using the VLV May week 2 sketch - still to do week 1 and 3!
The image is from Darkroom Door, coloured with Copics and the sentiment is from Verve. Spellbinders dies were used. Papers are from Papermania and Basic Grey.
Hope you like it.

Sad Week
![]() |
| The Card |
It has also been a sad week as our neighbour had to have her old dog Daisy put to sleep because of a tumour and a friend at work had one of his "boys" - a ginger tom called Fingle put to sleep yesterday because of a brain tumour. He had 2 ginger toms brothers called Fingle and Milo and both were taken ill just before Easter - he and his partner have been feeding them 3 hourly with feeding tubes for the last couple of weeks - Milo is doing OK but not out of the woods yet but poor Fingle was then found to have a tumour right behind his eyes and was confused and not at all well. It is so sad to say goodbye to a pet so I am sending this card to let Nick and Iain know we are thinking of them.
The card is being entered for 2 challenges - Sentimental Sundays - using a frame and Stampin Sisters in Christ to use something transparent - there is film on my window. The images used on the view are from Hobby Art and Stampscapes and the cat is from Lavinia Stamps.
