Happy Birthday Bruv!

My brother Clive celebrates his Birthday today - I hope my card made it.  We don't see him often but I am sure his celebrations will involve a pint somewhere - perhaps not at the Moulin Rouge with dancing girls; although I do seem to remember he has been there in his past!

Hope you have a happy weekend too.

Waltzing Silhouette

I made this card using the Waltzingmouse Sketch and the OCC challenge to use a silhouette.  I have used a combination of Tim Holtz stamps and Waltzingmouse ones.  An EK success border punch was used on the red paper behind the pearlescent white strip. The snowman was stamped on black and then embossed with white embossing powder.

Another Christmas card towards my November set.

Thank you for dropping in - enjoy the rest of the weekend, if you can.

Christmas in June - CCC12

I don't think I have posted any of these cards before to my blog but apologies if I have.  I realised this morning I had not completed my '12' Christmas cards for the month of June.  Most were nearly there but there were certainly not 12 ready to go.  We have been out today so tonight I have been rushing to get them all finished.
These first two use gilding flakes - I am new to these and need more practice.

The next batch use black stencil paste, which I am convinced is more messy than the white, and sketch challenge SC384.  Only just been brave enough to try any of the stencil pastes but I am learning!

This batch of 5 all use gold stencil paste.  I think this colour is very effective but sadly does not photograph well.

My last two cards uses the church stamp from MFP and the pince cones on the background strip which was created using glimmer mists and then embossed with a Tim Holtz folder.

You can see it has been a messy June in terms of the techniques I have been using on  my Christmas cards.

Red, White and Blue again

I seem to be into red, white and blue right now- must be all the royal events and all the Union Jacks flying!
This card uses VLVJune2012 Week 2 sketch and this week's JUGS colours which are, as you might have guessed, Red, White and Blue.
I have used Spellbinders dies, Tim Holtz embossing folders and Verve stamps

Thank you for dropping by.

Two More Christmas Cards

This post is Christmas related - sorry I know we are only just seeing the sunshine.  My cards will be for my CCC12 commitment for June but are also for other challenges.

The first card is for the Sentimental Sundays and High Hopes challenges.  Sentimental Sundays is a sketch with Spots and High Hopes this week is Anything Goes.  The image is High Hopes, the sentiment is from Tim Holtz and the papers are from Papermania.

My second card is for today's OCC challenge to use your favourite Tim Holtz technique.  Well I can't say this is my favourite technique because today was the first time I tried it but I saw Tim on a video showing his reflections stamps and I had to get them.  I found out how to use them with embossing folders so that is what I did on this card.  The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and I used the Seasonal Reflections Christmas sentiment stamped in Archival black.  The sponging was done with Bundled Sage Distress ink and the berries were coloured with a marker.

Songbird

Words of encouragement, something with wings, related to a song and the VLVMar2012 sketch are all in this card.
The stamps used are Tim Holtz - main image, Verve sentiment, Waltzingmouse doily images on the pink paper strip.

I am entering it for the following challenges
Stampin Sisters in Christ - something with wings
Our Creative Corner - inspiration from the song Songbird (sung by Lauren Payne - she was in her teens she had it recorded by a teacher at school and I would love to post it here but sadly cannot)
Sentimental Sundays - encouraging words for someone just about to embark on a show as part of her finals in Music and Drama- yes Lauren Payne again!
