Vintage Christmas

This "vintage card" was given last night to the "wine man" Dennis and his wife.  It was a quick card using a Woodware Stamp for the background and a MFP stamp on the foreground panel.  I wanted to use lace on the card but as it was for a guy went for sparkly ribbon in neutral colours.  I have had the Woodware stamp a while but have only used it a few times so decided to pull it put and show it some ink.

I am entering this card in the following challenges

Sketch N Stash 128
Our Creative Corner
Sentimental Sundays 128 ( I hope background sentiments count)

Thanks for looking.

Penny Black Sketch N Stash

I combined some Penny Black Stamps that I have not used very often with some glittery embossing powder that is new for me this winter.  The sentiment is part of the Penny Black set and I am not sure I have used it before.  The pink flower was free with a magazine many months ago.  The feathers are from my stash.

This card is for the Sketch N Stash and Penny Black Saturday December challenges.

Last Minute Harriet

She was coloured and ready but turning her into a card for Sketch and Stash has been a last minute rush.  Her real name is Maggie and she is a Sugar Nellie stamp.

She is an image that has been in my collection for ages and needed an airing!

Hope you think she is cute!

Sketch N Stash 114

Why is it some weeks you see challenges, you intend to do them and then the week just vanishes.  I almost didn't get this one done, finished it this morning.  The image is from Flonz a company in New Zealand and this is its first inking.  It was part of a little prize I won recently and is coloured with Copics.

The papers are from my tray but as they were just odd pieces I cannot tell you the make.  I used a border punch for my white edge (sorry you have to look hard!) and a Spellbinders die to cut the daisy strip.

The sun is shining here so I need to get my washing out and get on with my day.  God bless your Sunday.

Sketch N Stash 112

Last week I played along with the Sketch N Stash challenge for the first time.  I decided to play again this week as it is a good excuse to have a hunt through your stash!

I needed a card to send to a dear friend in France - we were good friends many years ago and they helped us many times with things we were trying to do.  Sadly the couple moved to France and he has many health issues so has tried to avoid much close contact with people.  It is his Birthday on Saturday and I hope he doesn't spend it in hospital.

I didn't feel I could make a bright, bright Birthday card so this is what I came up with.

I used some papers from Basic Grey (Granola pad) which I have had for ages and some grommets which I bought on one of my USA trips without realising I really needed a proper way to insert them - however where there is a will there is a way - pressed down to make hole marks, pierced them with a blade, pushed the grommet through and then took a hammer to the back - job done!  The image from Marks Finest Papers is stamped and coloured straight on the DP with Memento Black and Copics.  The sentiment is stamped in brown.

I hope you are having a good week and if it is your Birthday - enjoy!

The stamp set used is called Silly Shells

Another masculine card

This one is for the Sketch N Stash challenge posted on Monday 08/04/13.  I kept closely to the sketch and my only embellishment is the 2 little metal nail heads which I forget I have got.

The image is from the MFP North American Woods set, a set that I haven't used in a while.  The papers for the 4 squares are from my scrap tray.  The die I used to cut the sentiment got its first outing today!

Please come back for the FOSTV challenge tomorrow and the MFP Blog Hop the rest of the week with all the new sets being released.

Sketch N Stash 110

I used a sketch from Sketch N Stash for this Thank You card.  The image is one from Lili of the Valley that was in my stash and had not been used - sorry but this is certainly not one for the boys.  It is already in the post to a wonderfully kind person.

She was coloured with Copics and a little touch of Spica glitter pen. I also used Spellbinders dies and a border punch. Thank you for checking it out.
