CC812_WT813_Autumn_Beauty

I made this card last Thursday to distract myself from upcoming knee surgery and because I needed a card for some friends anniversary. The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios and was one I won from Angie's blog. I combined the colour and ways to use it challenges on it and today I learned it was chosen by Jeanne as her favorite last week.

The knee surgery looks to have been successful. I am waiting for the swelling and soreness to subside to be certain of this but removing the scar tissue seems to have helped the joint move better.

Guest Designer for Splitcoaststamper Color Challenge - Last Week

My final week as a guest designer for the colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

This week our colors are:

OLD OLIVE
CRUMB CAKE
CHERRY COBBLER

which translates into,

"OLD CRUMBS OF CHERRY COBBLER"

AND for dessert, a Touch of LACE!

I skipped the dessert but I have 3 cards to share. The first two with alcohol inks and the alcohol lift ink and then the last one stamped and coloured with Copics. I used an inked embossing folding on the background of the first one.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out the challenges at Splitcoaststampers

Guest Designer for Splitcoaststamper Color Challenge - Week 3

Tuesday was a busy day and the rest of the week has been the same. Today, I remembered I hadn't posted here the cards made for this week's colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

I actually made two cards using the colours (Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, Calypso Coral) as I wasn't sure the first one was a great example, but it seems to have been quite popular.

Guest Designer for Splitcoaststamper Color Challenge - Week 2

My 2nd week with the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge and I went for a colourful and slightly crazy card using a flower stamp from Chocolate Baroque.

I chose to incorporate the grey with just the ink I stamped it and used the other colours to the max.

This weeks colours are Granite, Mango and Razzleberry.

Hope you find time to play along

Guest Designer for Splitcoaststamper Color Challenge

For the remainder of January I get to be a guest designer for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge.

You can find this weeks challenge here

As the colours this week are silver, powder pink and red and the dessert option is hearts I decided it would be a good time to make a valentine card. My image is a digital one from Graciellie Designs and my valentine sentiment is from Power Poppy.

Thanks for looking and have a great week

1st 2019 Christmas Card

I combined a few challenges and made my first 2019 Christmas card.

I used CC720 this week's colour challenge, TLC723 this week's technique challenge to stamp with an embossing folder and CCC19Jan to add some bling to our January Christmas cards - pearlescent paper and gems!

Happy New Year and here's to a healthy and creative one.

FOSTV154 - Diamond Fold Card

This week at Friends of Speedy TV our challenge is Diamond Fold Cards.  Look a little tricky but not at all bad and lovely result for just a few folds. Check out what my team mates have made.

The Diamond Fold Card Tutorial
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/diamondfoldcard

I used the Birds of the Orient set and the colours from CC513 on Splitcoast Stampers a while back.

Our challenge can be found here and we would love you to play along.  The pick of the week for Speedy TV gets a 25% discount code for a shopping trip to the MFP Stamp Shop.  Happy creating!

Collective Noun for Snowmen?

If you are looking for my FOSTV post please check post below or follow this link.

Is there a term for a group of snowmen?  When they melt a puddle might be appropriate but I would hate these chaps to melt High Hopes does such cute snowmen.

Tuesday's challenge last week is anything goes.  Well the last time I entered it was when we were away in San Diego and I coloured two snowmen I took with me and added some ribbons.  The other snowmen I took never made it to cards and some didn't even see colour.

Today I am putting that right and sharing a selection of cards using High Hopes snowmen - the next 8 of my cards for CCC14 for May.

The first card is also for CCC486 - I needed a new combination - so this is how he ended up - not traditional but I like him!

VLV September Week4 & more

OK I told you another card would follow.  This one is a little crazy and shows a sneak peak of a set being released by Marks Finest Papers, A Heinrich company this week called Tweet That.

I have used the colours from this week colour challenge (CC393), the layout from VLV week 4 and the little bird and sentiment from the new set.  I have paired it with a sentiment from the Christmas Greetings set.

Run over to the MFP store in a couple of days and you will find all the goodies.  Pop back here and to my team mates blogs and you could win some goodies - the hop starts Tuesday.

Penny Black & CC370

The Penny Black challenge for Easter Saturday was a case-it challenge and I have combined it with the colours from CC370 to make this card.  I have kept the layout and distressing but changed the flower stamp and the colours.  I used damp water colour paper to stamp on to give a more painted effect and rubbed distress ink round all the layers and the card base.  The olive green layer looks very dark in this photo.

FOSTV Challenge 14 for 2012

Happy Monday everyone.
This week's challenge over at Speedy TV is to make a Get Well Card.  My card uses three challenges from SCS as well
  • CC368 Colour challenge (Eggplant, Grape and Melon) but without the stripes
  • WT368 focus on the sentiment
  • F4A110 - Caught a bug - not sure a butterfly really counts as a bug but it is a get well card.
The Mark's Finest Papers stamp I have used are the butterfly from Birthday Mini (and at least one other set) and the Get Well Soon sentiment from the Greetings and Salutations set.

Hop over to Speedy TV and check out today's challenge (number 14) to see which set you could win.
Edited to add - stamp set you can win this week is called You Light Up Your Life

  Good luck

Belated Blues

This card uses the VLV Week 4 sketch for January, some K&Co paper, a couple of dies, a simple stamped sentiment from Verve and some decoration.  The flowers are from my box, the leaves are punch with the MS punch and some Stickles have been added to the centres.  The colours are for this week's colour challenge on Splitcoast (CC360).

Two Hearts Wedding

This card could be used for a Wedding and also an Anniversary.  It uses the SC367 sketch, F4A100 to use two hearts or more on your project - actually the sticker behind the pearls is a row of hearts!  I am also entering the card in this week's Penny Black challenge to use a bargain and CC358 because I used two shades of pink, red and a neutral..  The stamp was bought in the post Christmas sales and the stickers and pearls were bought during some closing down sales.
The image is stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with watercolour pencils.  A white H2O is then used on her dress.  The paper was on my scrap pile and I can't remember who makes it.  Heart outline stickers where added down the left of the DP and then the adhesive pearls placed on top.  The hearts are die cut with a Spellbinders die.

Thank you for stopping by.

6 Times the Snow

Sorry to those that have snow and have had enough of it, because I have 6 snowy cards to share today.  I have used VLV Jan2012 week1 sketch with a GinaK stamp and an Inkadinkado sentiment.  I have tried to use colours to fit with CC357 but I swapped the flower for a snowflake or two.  The cards are quite simple but if I don't go mad I can get some Christmas cards done each month and still do others and not panic later in the year - well that is the theory.
Thank you for looking and have a great Friday and weekend.

FOSTV Challenge 2 for 2012

Its Monday again, rather later on Monday than when I first tried to write this post but that is the wonder of computers!  Monday means Friends of Speedy TV challenges and today is no exception - this week's challenge is to make a Thank You card.  I have two to show you today so please join in the challenge and make one.

The first is a single layer card using the Pussy Willow set onto a background made with Promarkers a card stencil and the Letrajet.  I used some puffy stuff on the willow buds.

My second card I have called 4 wheels on my wagon - does anyone else remember that song?  I can't get it out of my head.
My card uses the sketch SC366 and the colours from CC356.  The images are from the Trip To Lancaster set and the 'wheels' are made using one of my new Spellbinders dies - present to me!  The green paper is Basic Grey but I cannot remember who makes the spotted one that I brightened with a Copic marker.

Thanks for looking and your comments.  Have a good week.  Janine

FOSTV Challenge 1 for 2012

It is the first challenge for 2012 over at Friends of Speedy TV.  This week's challenge is to make a Gatefold card and I have incorporated it with a colour challenge on Splitcoast stampers CC355.  My card uses one of the new MFP wintry sets and I have added some glitter (2 colours) to the icicles.  I used a Spellbinders die for the fancy edge. Thank you for looking.

Happy New Year.  Hope 2012 is a good year for you all.

Trip to Lancaster - 50th

This month's New Stamp Set Releases are
Peaceful Nuthatch
A Trip to Lancaster
What a Fox
This card was made for my Brother in Law who turned 50 on Sunday.  He has always pretended to be much younger but with a big party on Saturday he could pretend no more.  The trip to Lancaster set with the great sentiment about age was my choice.  I have used SC359 sketch and my colour choices are from challenge CC348.
