This card was inspired by a few things. The layout was inspired by a Birthday card from my sweet friend Angie. The colours were prompted by the Jugs challenge but the choice of pink was because we both wore something pink to a memorial service on Saturday for a lovely lady, Andree, who would have been 50 on 23rd March but God had other plans and took her to sing in his heavenly choir last October. The sparkly bits were also because of Andree - she loved life and enjoyed it to the full. The stamps are from Stampin Up - haven't pulled them out in ages.
This is also being entered in the Word Art Wednesday challenge as I will be sending it to a friend in Devon whose Birthday is soon. My normal choice for her would have been horses - check out the Word Art Wednesday scripture!

Dance in the rain
“Life
isn't about waiting for the storm
to
pass...
It's
about learning to
dance
in
the rain.”
This is a quote I have liked for some time and remember being sent it on a card when going through a tough patch. With the umbrella die Dave bought me for Christmas and the dancer digital image (from all dressed up) I made this card for someone else who also likes the quote - hope she likes the card.
I die cut the umbrella from DP and then again from some orange card that went underneath the main section. The image was printed and then coloured with Copics. The rain drops were drawn on and then tiny gems added to each one. I am entering this at Word Art Wednesday.
Enjoy any rain that comes your way.

Giraffe Thank You
MFP Blog Hop - see post below - thank you
This card is a thank you for a lovely lunch I enjoyed this week. It was a big 3 course lunch and therefore ended up as a substitute for dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed it but it did mean hubby's Birthday meal had to be postponed! I was just expecting some smoked salmon with salad after a conversation with my hostess but I was shocked at how busy she had been for our little group. The group that gathered were a few people that met doing the shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. In the lounge she has a beautiful tall and elegant giraffe and hence the inspiration for today.
I am entering the card in 2 challenges - Word Art Wednesday 168 and High Hopes 151. The yellow choice was because several of us took yellow flowers to the lunch. Dies were used and the flowers were sprayed with a Glimmer mist. The centres of the flowers are yellow/orange to match the paper but they don't look it in the photo.
Thank you for checking by and have a lovely weekend.

Lauren & Nick
I am sure this card must have got there by now so I believe I am free to post it here. It was mailed to Lauren (our niece) at home but I am sure she and Nick have both seen it by now. The card may not be as romantic as the proposal but I tried hard
They went to Paris for Lauren's Birthday and the question was popped at the top of the Eiffel Tower. What a great place - Paris was where we went on Honeymoon all those years ago!
Lauren loves her music and sings beautifully and is a primary school teacher. Nick is a music teacher in Secondary schools and plays in a couple of bands.
My card uses a new embossing folder by Spellbinders that Dave bought me for Christmas and some older images from Katzelkraft. The sentiment is computer generated but on this and the Paris I used more than one colour as per the TLC515 challenge. The word Love is a Penny Black die and the hearts border is made with Spellbinders dies. I started with sketch SC522 but felt the urge to tilt my panel and I will be entering this at Word Art Wednesday - anything goes.
Hope they have a great life together.

VLVFeb Week 2 & High Hopes 205
I made the Birthday card shown below using the VLV sketch for the 2nd week of February and a recently released image from High Hopes called Hummingbird Ring.
I have been checking out Copic colour combination at DoveArt Studios (http://just4funcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/) - a great site and well worth a visit.
The sketch looks like this
and this is a close up

My image is coloured with Copics and the flowers are made using Spellbinders dies. The background paper is from Kelly Panacci. I am entering my card in HHC205 which is Birthday Cards using a High Hopes image, VLV Feb Week 2 and Word Art Wednesday as I believe my bright colours would uplift many people. Wishing you a bright and cheerful day.

Seize the Moment
I made this card using some Darkroom Door stamps I have had in my collection for a while. Having stamped the image and the sentiment I was stuck for a sketch. Couldn't find one I thought would work and I knew I didn't want to cover up the image so this is the simple layout I came up with. I am entering it in the Word Art Wednesday challenge.
Hope you are having a good weekend.

Walk on a Sunny Day
I wanted to make a card for the High Hopes challenge as today was the first sunny day in some time. I walked my Mum's dog Tess without getting wet which was wonderful. She still got muddy as the grass is really sodden but it was nice to be able to walk around and stop and look without rain dripping down your neck!
My card uses summery colours despite the fact it is only January and lots of butterflies. The image is from High Hopes and the sentiment is an old one from MFP. The lace circle die is from Cheery Lynn and the butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I have also used corner punches, a Spellbinders die, an embossing folder and lots of tiny gems on the butterfly bodies.
I have combined a few challenges here
Viva La Verve Week 3 sketch
High Hopes - On A Sunny Day
Ribbon Carousel - Love, Birthday's and Chicken Soup
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Divas by Design - Use Ribbons

Sunshine, Showers, Flowers
and Rainbows!
I have been thinking about some of the challenges relating to April showers and then the other afternoon we had both sun and rain together and from the front of the house we could see a beautiful rainbow against the dark threatening sky! The spark of an idea!
I started this card by creating a rainbow background using ProMarkers and their Letrajet system. Haven't used it in ages so not the most even coverage!
I took the sketch from MFT and worked with that. Thanks to a short class at MCC I am rediscovering my Spellbinders Mix + Match Edgeabilities so I used those on the strip at the left side. I intended to thread ribbon up through the cut strip but completely forgot until it was well stuck down so my bow had to be under my flower rather than stemming from that panel. I coloured my lady with Prismacolor pencils and Zest and paper-pieced her umbrella with some sunny flowery paper. The sentiment and image are both from MFT.
I hope you like my card - I must admit I think it does bring in some sunshine! I am entering it in the following challenges (more than usual for me I know)
MFTWSC120 - Sketch

Craft Calendar - Sunshine and Showers
Ribbon Carousel - Showers and Flowers
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Penny Black and More - Blossoms and Bows

GO confidently in the direction of your dreams
For once I made myself something! Following a bit of a rough patch I am going to a confidence workshop tomorrow and I made myself this notebook to take along with me. I used the sketch from VLVApr2013 week 3 posted today by Coconutmuffn (what a great ID!) to base my cover on. The notebook was a very boring office style one! I am also entering this for Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes.
I used various dies, mainly Spellbinders and a computed generated sentiment. The paper is from Bo Bunny.
Have a great weekend, whatever you are doing.

Hot off the press!
I was in London yesterday on one of the seminars I am attending in relation to finding a new role. As you would expect my phone was on silent so I missed a call from our Nephew. The home phone went unanswered too as Dave was on his work phone on a conference call. Poor Ryan was bursting to tell us his news - he had just passed his driving test! Well Done Ryan.
Tonight I got time to make him a card, having printed and coloured the image yesterday. I used Mojo Monday 278 sketch but missed out a few bits in the end.
The image is a digital one from a set called TRMikey from Charmed Cards and Craft which I have had some time; ideal though for this occasion. I coloured it with Copics and used Spellbinders dies and embossing folder on the card. The flag sentiments are from Verve and the word Pass is computer generated.
I am also entering this for Word Art Wednesday as it is a modern card of encouragement for their anything goes challenge.

Winter Butterflies
OK I started out with a very simple card in my head but ended up with this card - not that it is overly complicated but it wasn't where I was originally going!
The last sketch this month for VLV is a clean and simple one. I wanted to use the sentiment shown - one of my favourite ones and a replacement for the snow that has now been washed away! The rest of the card just sort of happened once I started playing with the distress inks. Karen at Word Art Wednesday has been encouraging me to play along. I haven't used a scripture but it is family friendly so I think it counts for their anything goes challenge. This card is also one of my CCC13 cards.
I have made several Christmas cards today so I will be sharing the rest later in the week.
Thanks for looking.
