2017 January Christmas Cards

Hello - happy new year.
I have joined a Christmas card challenge at Splitcoastampers again this year to try and tackle some Christmas cards each month. In 2016 I did not have enough so my target is a minimum of 15 per month. Each month there is a theme, that you can use or ignore, and this month the theme is sleds, snowboards, skis etc. These are the cards I have made - some duplicate ones I have not photographed so I actually have 19 made!

Thanks for checking in - have a great week.

FOSTV104 - Wedding / Engagement Card

It is blowing a gale here and pouring with rain.  Thankfully we got most of our grocery shopping done before it started to really come down.

FOSTV this week are concentrating on something far more lovely than this weather - Weddings and Engagements.  I used a Cricut card designed for Valentines day for my card and paired it with yellow poinsettias (Poinsettia Blooms) for a Christmas wedding celebration card.  It is simple and straightforward but conveys all it needs to.

May your Christmas week be filled with love as you celebrate with friends and family near and far.

Christmas Tags

I made a selection of gift tags using pieces I cut with my Cricut when I first started experimenting with it last year.  All the pieces had been put on one side but rather than bin them I decided to try them on some simple tags.  I added some gems and outline stickers to glam them up a bit.

The first group shot shows them hanging on a welcome light which has decided not to work this year.  It is old but it is sad when things pack up when they have been part of your Christmas decorations for many years.  I am entering these tags in this week's FCCB challenge.

The other pictures show them all separately

I used Cricut cartridges Teresa Collins December 25th and Trim the Tree.

I also used a couple of stamped images for a few more tags

Thank you for checking these out.

Christmas Critter

I made a Birthday card with the Cricut Dinosaur a few days ago and now I have a cute Christmas card for our niece's little boy.  The dinosaur is a single purchase from Cricut the trees are die cut, the holly is punched and the sentiment is computer generated and cut by hand.

This card is being entered in the FCCB challenge this week - FCCB190 Holiday Cards.

Another quick post

I used Mojo Monday sketch (Number 322) for this quick card using the Cricut and some MFP dinosaur stamps and words.  I need it for Wednesday this week and I hope the young recipient will enjoy it.

Thanks for looking in.

Blue Christmas

I have been playing with my Cricut to get a few more Christmas cards done and while it was out I  made a card for hubby today.  I used the Cricut Teresa Collins December 25th cartridge to cut a snowflake and used the left over piece for this card (by design!).  I used Chocolate Baroque stamps on the inside piece with sparkly embossing powders.  Sadly some sparkle rubbed off when I added the background inks and it is hard to see the sparkle that did stay in the photos.  The heart was also cut with my Cricut and stamped with snowflakes from Chocolate baroque.  The sentiment was generated on the PC.

I used the sketch from VLV December Week 2 and  I used the challenge colours from this week's Speedy Fox and Friends - Blue Christmas.

Thanks for looking and I hope you are getting through your to do list and having time for some fun!

FOSTV99 - Thanksgiving

As I said on Friends Of Speedy TV I am a bystander for this USA holiday but this card will be going to a good home.  We have sampled Thanksgiving Celebrations though and have also been to Plimoth Plantation to find out about the early settlers.

I hope all those in the USA have a great day celebrating on November 28th with family and friends.  In the meantime the challenge is to make a card or other project for Thanksgiving and enter it in our challenge 99 at Friends of Speedy TV.

Nov 28th is Mum's Birthday and hopefully you saw my screen card I made for her which I posted during the blog hop last week.

Here now is my Thanksgiving Card.  I used MFP set called I am Thankful, Spellbinders dies and my Cricut as well as coloured pencils and Memento ink.

Thank you for looking - have a good week.

God Bless you this Halloween

I don't agree with all the evil side of the Halloween festival but it is half term here in the UK and lots of little ones are having fun dressing up and collecting some goodies from the neighbours.  I decided just to buy some small chocolate items and give them out.

The pumpkins were made using my Cricut. The green liquid is an old cooking oil bottle not rinsed with some dye ink and water in it.

This is my porch with my pumpkins to let them know I am OK with them knocking.  Some Mums are even dressed up too and fortunately it is not raining just now.

God bless you all and keep you safe - tomorrow is All Saints Day.

Laura & James Wedding Day

Today is a very special day in the lives of a young couple Laura & James who cement their love for each other by getting married today.  We are privileged to be at the celebrations and to share in this happy occasion.

In keeping with the theme of the city and the colours of the wedding I made them this card.  I have used dies, my Cricut and some stamps from Marks Finest Papers.

Here are some views of my card

I have also made the name tags for the wedding reception and I will post some pictures of those tomorrow.

CCC13 - August Monochrome Cards

The month is flying by and those of you who dropped into my blog yesterday know that I have only just finished my CCC13 cards for June.  August needed to be short and sweet so here are my quick cards for August.  Stamps used are from Marks Finest Papers and snowflakes were cut with the Cricut. They do all have glitter on them but doesn't show too well.  The colours were chosen because of this weeks Jugs challenge.

July Blog Hop Day 1 - Lotus Blossoms

July Blog Hop!

This month's New Stamp Set Releases are

Featured July 9th - Lotus Blossoms
Today's set was right up my street so I played around and created several cards.  I could have kept on but then you would have had nothing to view the rest of the week.  It will appear again soon though for sure.

My first card is actually featured on the MFP Blog but I couldn't resist posting it here too - you should see how much it shimmers in real life.  I used gold embossing powder and then H20s to colour the lotus blossoms on the fan which was cut with the Cricut.  I used this month's mini set Dragonflies on this card too (but they are hard to see in the photo).

My second card is very simple using Memento inks. dies, flowers and a tag with the Happy Birthday message.

Card 3 uses the yin-yang symbol cut with my cricut and then embossed with a lotus flower.  The LOVE sentiment is from the set and the Happy Anniversary is from the Celebrate Big stamp set.  The red paper was embossed before adding it to the card base.

My last cut also uses the Cricut for the bridge, flowers from the set coloured with Copics and embellished with Star Dust stickles.  The stripes on the edge are done with fine glitter on double sided clear tape - how messy was that! I did not add a sentiment so I have choices about how I use it.

Thank you for visiting, please check out the rest of the teams posts and don't forget to come back again.
