VLVFeb2014 - Week 4

This is another one of my March Christmas cards and thanks to my Mum it fits the CCC14 March challenge of recycling.  Mum dutifully collected buttons over the years and recently I raided her box and pulled some out for cards.  Some have also gone to a Primary School for their craft projects.

The sketch for this challenge is from VLVFeb2014 Week 4.  This one was quite a challenge for me and took more thinking than making.

My card uses Verve stamps, some of Mum's buttons and some embroidery silk through the button holes.  White and a metallic blue embossing powder were used.

Thanks for looking.

VLVFeb2014 Week 3 Sketch, Inspiration and Prickley Pear

Today I have another VLV February sketch to share with you.  This one is the sketch and inspiration one which I have turned into an Easter card.

The stamps and most of the dies are from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and are from a prize I won recently on their blog.  Such a generous prize which I am thrilled to own.

Thanks for looking

VLV Feb 2014 Week1 Sketch and Colours

It has taken me a while to get going with this one.

The sketch and colours were for the first week of February and perhaps should have been used for a Valentine card.  We don't send as many Valentines as is done in the USA so I only needed one and already had two.  This sketch sat on the side until today when I uncovered this tulip image from Darkroom Door that I coloured some time ago.  With the help of some Spellbinders dies this card was born.  I left off a sentiment as I thought I could use it for several occasions.

VLVFeb Week 2 & High Hopes 205

I made the Birthday card shown below using the VLV sketch for the 2nd week of February and a recently released image from High Hopes called Hummingbird Ring

I have been checking out Copic colour combination at DoveArt Studios (http://just4funcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/) - a great site and well worth a visit.

The sketch looks like this

My card looks like this

and this is a close up

My image is coloured with Copics and the flowers are made using Spellbinders dies.  The background paper is from Kelly Panacci.  I am entering my card in HHC205 which is Birthday Cards using a High Hopes image, VLV Feb Week 2 and Word Art Wednesday as I believe my bright colours would uplift many people.  Wishing you a bright and cheerful day.
