FOSTV 131 - Note Cards

Another post from sunny California.  This week our theme is note cards and I used my first attempts at Zentangle on my cards.  This set of notecards will be given as part of a thank you.  As you can see I used a few different MFP stamps on these.  I hope you like them.  Please play along with our FOSTV challenge which can be found here

Have a great week.

Vacation Snowmen

The only High Hopes images I have with me on vacation are some of the cute snowmen.  I have, therefore, created Christmas cards featuring snowmen with ribbon for this week's High Hopes challenge.

FOSTV130 - Use Buttons

This week our FOSTV challenge is to use buttons.  I made this card ahead of schedule as I knew I would be away.  Having a great time with friends in San Diego - weather glorious and I even have a little space to craft when needed e.g. to make cards for the July hop!  I have seen so much hummingbird activity in the last two days and some beautiful orioles on their feeders.  So much to watch don't need to go far!

My card today has other flying beauties - butterflies and a sentiment from the May set Bearded Iris.  I have three small buttons at the bottom.

We would love you to join our challenge this week.  Please check it out and the cards made by the team.  Have a great week.

Post 3 of 3 - High Hopes Water

The challenge at High Hopes is to use a stamp of theirs relating to the theme of water this week.  This one is fun, although I have no recipient in mind.  I kept it simple as the image almost
speaks for itself.

I have made 3 posts today so please check out the others.  Thank you

Post 2 of 3 - One Layer Simplicity Challenge 6

I made this card at the weekend but forgot to post it.  It uses the new Marks Finest Papers snowman and Spellbinders dies to make the frame.  As it is snow related it fits the CCC14 challenge for May - June done so now working back to May and April that I missed!!!

Snow is nice to look at but I don't want any in the near or distant future except perhaps Christmas Day.

Post 1 of 3 - Penny Black June

This is my card for Penny Black's challenge for June and I added a little Eiffel Tower to complete the scene.

I don't have a great many masculine stamps from Penny Black because I like the cute ones and flowers but I think this fits the bill.

MFP Blog Hop - forgot one!

Well if my craft space wasn't quite such a mess this may have made it into last week's blog hop.  It features a stamp from Flower Blocks and the water lily from the Koi Fish set.  I found it stamped but incomplete as a card on my desk at the weekend.  I used Promarkers with my airbrush on the background and stamped with Memento ink.

This view shows the detail of the stamping and air-brushing a little better

FOSTV129 - Side Step Card

I am rather late posting this today.  I normally try to pre-schedule but last night I was just too tired.  My GCSE students sat their last Maths paper on Friday so no more lessons with them.  We all now wait for the results on 21st August.  Lessons have stopped and I feel so tired - funny how the body behaves!

Anyway you came to find out about my card and hopefully our new FOSTV challenge - this week the challenge is Side Step Cards - any type you like.  My card uses Above the Rest stamp set - I love the expression on that seated giraffe's face.

Hope you have a lovely and creative week.

More Christmas Cards

I added to my June Christmas card stash with this bunch of cards.  Backgrounds were sponged / brayered and the deer and trees die cut and sponged.  All quite simple and easy to send through the post.

High Hopes 222

I love playing with High Hopes stamps especially all the fun snowmen.  The challenge this week is to use two or more designer papers so I used two papers for paper piecing and another behind my image.
I coloured the non paper pieced areas with Copics and added some sequin snow.

It has been a hot and humid week but I have been trying to get some Christmas cards done as I am way behind with my 12 a month aim. I hope you like this cute one.

MFP Blog Hop - Great Flowers and Flower Blocks

Welcome to the Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company

June Blog Hop!

This month's New Stamp Set Releases are

Featured June 10 - Gears To You and Gear Up

Featured June 11 - Pretty Pears

Featured June 12 - Great Flowers and Flower Blocks

I generally love MFP flower stamps and these two sets today are great.

The first two cards use the flower blocks set.

The first one is simple black and white with a touch of red.  The DP is actually black and white but looks slightly green below.  No colouring on this one just simple stamping with a gem in the centre.

This second card uses several of the tiles, a fancy spellbinders die and a MFP butterfly carefully cut out. Colouring was done with Prismacolor pencils on the images and with Copics on the standalone butterfly.

My next card uses the same flower from the Great Flowers stamped and masked and the lacy edge is made with a Martha Stewart punch.  Colouring is done with Prismacolor pencils.

My last card is paper pieced with dimension added using an embossing stylus.
