This card was inspired by a few things. The layout was inspired by a Birthday card from my sweet friend Angie. The colours were prompted by the Jugs challenge but the choice of pink was because we both wore something pink to a memorial service on Saturday for a lovely lady, Andree, who would have been 50 on 23rd March but God had other plans and took her to sing in his heavenly choir last October. The sparkly bits were also because of Andree - she loved life and enjoyed it to the full. The stamps are from Stampin Up - haven't pulled them out in ages.
This is also being entered in the Word Art Wednesday challenge as I will be sending it to a friend in Devon whose Birthday is soon. My normal choice for her would have been horses - check out the Word Art Wednesday scripture!

Less is More - Single Layer Coloured Card
The Less is More challenge this week is to produce a single layer card using coloured card.
My first card uses navy card stock and a flower image from Penny Black, which was stamped in white and embellished with some Prismacolor pencils and a white pen. This one is also being entered into Penny Black Saturday Challenge for May.
My second card uses a soft green card and I stamped in a dark purple from Memento. The image is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse.
Thanks for looking - have a great weekend.

Men and their football teams!
Today I have two cards to share with you both for guys. Before I get to them though I wanted to comment on this week's Marks Finest Papers Blog Hop - wasn't it a great one? The hummingbird was definitely my favourite set this month and now we have lovely new watermarks for our MFP cards.
Both today's cards use VLVFeb2013 sketches.
I used VLVFeb2013 Week1 sketch for this card and lots of masking. I am doing a stamping techniques class at MCC and this week we are doing masking and layering of stamps - this is my first go and is called Blue is the Colour - some of you will know the team supported! I used stamps from Do Crafts, Stampin Up, two from magazines and a mask to add the spots.
My second card uses the VLVFeb2013 Week2 sketch, lots of embossing and a little stamping using the sentiment from MFP Cracked Hello.

Butterfly Thanks
Sorry I am on a butterfly thing right now so my second card today also contains a butterfly. This one uses stamps from Gina K (retired I think) and a butterfly from Penny Black.
The card uses today's Jugs sketch and is for that challenge as well as Sentimental Sundays 139 from last weekend which is a Thank You card challenge. The papers are from Stampin Up and Memento Inks and Copics were used plus some ribbon and gems from my stash.

Wonderful Hospitali-tea
I know that it a bit corny but a dear friend from college hosted a reunion of a few of us this weekend and she made it a wonderful time. She also happens to have quite a few tea pots and we did do quite a bit of tea drinking - after all we are British!
This card I am sending to her uses a High Hopes sketch and image. I generated the sentiment on the computer, first trying to print it on a scrap of card and then spent 1 hour trying to unjam the printer! I ended up using a whole sheet and then cropping this little bit off.
The spotted paper was in my trays but I don't know the make - shame because it is so pretty. The other paper is from SU. The image was coloured with Copics and some Star Dust Stickles were added to the butterfly and the flowers. Spellbinders dies were used and a little sponging of Memento inks around the tea pot.
Note - went back and finished the little bit of colouring I missed which I only noticed after posting here - fortunately before physically posting!

Young Woman
A friend from my college days youngest daughter is just about to turn 21. I haven't seen her for many years and it seems amazing that she is really now a young woman - also makes me feel old!
I used the VLV September Week 2 sketch and stamps from Stampin Up and Verve. The papers are from Kate Knight and Kanban. I used Versamark to stamp the oriental lady and then applied Zing Pewter embossing powder. The Verve flowers are stamped with a Nick Bantock ink called Damson Plum - the only colour I had that was a close match to the paper. I replaced the two little tags with the ribbon bow tails.
I hope she has a wonderful birthday.
