Rainbow Christmas

A quick card made using rainbow colours for Christmas 2014.  I know it includes traditional Christmas colours but to me it is still non-traditional and is going into my CCC14 pot for February.

It is a one layer repeating card in rainbow colours so I am entering it for One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #2 and for Less is More.

If you have rain may you also see rainbows.

Less is More & CCC14

Hi I know it is still January but I am working on my 2014 Christmas cards and trying to keep on top of my CCC commitment this year.  For February the challenge is to avoid the Christmas colours - Red, Green and Blue so I went with the regal combination of purple and gold for this card which I am entering in the Less is More Sketch challenge.  The stamps used are from Verve and this is the base sketch.

VLVJuly 2013 Weeks 1,3,4 and 5

Here are the other 4 VLVJuly2013 cards - I used week 2 on Monday!

I hope you like them - they are a real mix.  Week 4 is using this week's Less is More picture for inspiration.

High Hopes and Hexagons

Not quite as much white space as I planned as I made my hexagon road a bit too wide, but liked it so left it rather than trimming it off - card is quite simple though so hopefully it will count.  The card is for the Less is More Hexagon challenge and the High Hopes Summer Time challenge - you should be able to drive with the top down in the Summer!!!

Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend.

Need for Speed

This card combines a few challenges

Penny Black and More - CAS
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Masculine
Less is More - Single Layer with them Need for Speed
JUGS - Use Washi tape

I have used a Penny Black Christmas stamp but given the dogs crazy party hats.  If you have missed a Birthday you certainly need to get a move on and get the card out hence my thoughts behind this one!  I didn't think I had any Washi tape and then I remembered I bought a reel of what might be Washi tape when we went to MN and my friend told me it was the in thing - It has been in the drawer ever since!!  Now having used it I think I might like some others colours and designs.

The card base has a pearly sheen to it so colouring was a little difficult and getting a photo too so please excuse the quality of both.

Thank you so much for checking this out.  Enjoy the coming week.

The Colour of my Front Door

Yes I know that is a strange title to my post but the colour challenge at Less is More is exactly that!

Our front door is very boring - it is white with rectangular glass panels.  Often hanging on it I have a red wreath - Poinsettias near Christmas and Roses the rest of the time - except now when one on my roses keeps falling apart and despite numerous glue attempts it will not stay put.  I decided not to bore you with the photo and as it is now dark outside you would not be very impressed so here is my card.

The inside features Ice Cream because at this time of year you are likely to come across my husband inside eating ice cream - working from home on a hot day seems to bring the urge on!

The sentiment especially added for the recipient is "stressed spelt backwards is desserts!" - I bet that isn't in her manual.  The stamps inside are from Woodware and are designed by Jane Gill.  The thank you on the front is from Verve.

Cat and Dog day

Hi everyone hope you are safe and well.

The Less is More challenge is to make cards with the theme Dog or Cat.  I am a doggy person but I need a card for someone who loves cats - so the answer make one of each!

I chose a High Hopes image for the dog card so I can enter it into the High Hopes CAS challenge.  I coloured with Prismacolor Pencils.

I used a Jane Gill Woodware cat and paper pieced him with a "ginger" scrap from my paper trays.

Less is More - Single Layer Coloured Card

The Less is More challenge this week is to produce a single layer card using coloured card.

My first card uses navy card stock and a flower image from Penny Black, which was stamped in white and embellished with some Prismacolor pencils and a white pen.  This one is also being entered into Penny Black Saturday Challenge for May.

My second card uses a soft green card and I stamped in a dark purple from Memento.  The image is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse.

Thanks for looking - have a great weekend.

FOSTV71 - New Job

No not me just yet - just a card on that theme!  The fence painting is still ongoing but other jobs have taken priority this weekend.  If we get some dry days this week I hope to get more done.

My card is for this week's Friends of Speedy TV challenge and also for the  Less is More colour challenge where I chose blue-green / red-orange.  The card is simple using Cuttlebug dies for the letters and the News from the Woods stamp set.

I also did a little stamping in the inside too

Thank you for looking, even more for commenting and have a good week.

Don't forget to check out the challenge - it will go up here as Challenge 71 and there is a Spring Sayings set to be won.

Less is More - Masculine Card

OK so how did I come to make this card?  It started from the thought "I need some more cards for men" and I thought about what challenges are out there.  The Less is More challenge was single layer cards, few embellishments so great for those masculine cards.  The challenge is to use Films as your inspiration.  Well I thought about Lion King (that has been done already) then I thought about my stamps.  I searched through film lists and I came up with the thriller North by Northwest because of the scene with the crop spraying plane.  I knew I had no plane like that so I used this sea plane from Katzelkraft.  I searched long and hard for a compass stamp and I am sure I have one but had to improvise on that too!

After my long ramble here is the card
Thanks for looking.

Less is More - Lime and Black

I am unsure whether my card has enough blank space to meet the criteria of the Less is More challenges but the card just evolved as sometimes they do.  I don't have need of a sympathy card right now but I like to have one available because sadly we all need them from time to time.  The challenge this week is to use lime and black.

I need to learn to leave more white space on some cards as this draws the eye to the main elements.  For this card the black panel perhaps should have been narrower.

Thanks for looking.
