Even more Poinsettias in April

I continued to turn my cut out and coloured Poinsettias into cards and here are the next set of my April CCC15 cards. I used dies, embossing folders and some foam dots with a few greetings to make these simple cards.

Hope you have had a lovely weekend.

I have been making cards for the CCC15 challenge for April and the end of the month is fast approaching and not sure I will be done but here are the first 5 of my cards using the MFP lantern and MFP Poinsettias carefully trimmed.

I have incorporated a couple of other challenges too.

FOSTV144 - Moving element on a Card

I suppose I took the easy option for this one making another waterfall card.  This one I was asked to make and as it qualifies as a card with a moving element I am sharing as part of this challenge for FOSTV144.

The card uses a variety of MFP flower sets.  I made one panel for each season wishing for a great year ahead rather than just a single day.

We would love you to play along with our challenge this time around. You have two weeks to create a card with something that moves.  Please check out all the other team members cards too.
You can find our fortnightly challenge on this page - look for the one in large type each time.  There is always a prize for one participant and this time around it is the set Sand Dollar.

FOSTV139 - Using Eyelets

I have only stamped a sentiment today and then created the star out of eyelets and some gold fibre.  The sentiment is from the set Poinsettia Blooms

The card I used for sky has great sparkle so I had to take several photos to capture it.  A simple card but I wanted to make the eyelets key to the design.

We would love you to join the challenge at FOSTV this week.  Hopefully most people have eyelets somewhere in their collection.  You can find details of the challenge here FOSTV139.

FOSTV104 - Wedding / Engagement Card

It is blowing a gale here and pouring with rain.  Thankfully we got most of our grocery shopping done before it started to really come down.

FOSTV this week are concentrating on something far more lovely than this weather - Weddings and Engagements.  I used a Cricut card designed for Valentines day for my card and paired it with yellow poinsettias (Poinsettia Blooms) for a Christmas wedding celebration card.  It is simple and straightforward but conveys all it needs to.

May your Christmas week be filled with love as you celebrate with friends and family near and far.

Mark’s Finest Papers Christmas Blog Hop - Ornament Ball

Welcome to the Mark’s Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. Christmas/Holiday Blog Hop. We have some great tutorials for you to make some fun and easy projects for this Holiday Season. We will be giving away two stamps sets during this hop, so two lucky people will go home with both of these fabulous stamp sets. Be sure to comment on all the designers’ blogs. Our hop will run from November 19-22 . Our two winners will be announced on November 23, 2013.

November 19th - Christmas Crackers

November 20th - Paper Ball Ornaments

November 21st - Countdown Calendar

November 22nd - Pine Cone Frames

I was really worried about getting this ball right but I am pleased with the outcome and just need to find somewhere appropriate to hang it for Christmas.  Adding the sparkly nailvarnish was a great idea but I learned quite quickly to apply it carefully over my images to stop them smudging.

Be sure to check out all of our designers who participated in our hop. The more you comment the more chances you have to win one of these great stamp set give aways!

I have toilet paper tubes in a carrier bag waiting to be turned into more crackers but I have 4 to share with you today.  Each of these have a little chocolate bar inside but I need more bars to make the rest - I gave the other chocs to the witches and ghosts at the door a few weeks back!

FOSTV98 - Torn Paper

This week's challenge at Friends of Speedy TV is to make a card or other project using torn paper.  I added another to my Christmas card collection. I used Distress Inks and the "Just a Note" set on the background torn piece.  The lamp and sentiment are from the set called "Poinsettia Blooms".
The die for my fern is from Impression Obsession and I tucked it under my lamp.  Please check out the challenge over at FOSTV and join us this week.

Thanks for popping in today - please come back the rest of the week as it is Blog Hop week.  For a look at the 5th set and the mini released this month please see the post below.

FOSTV90 - Decorated Corners

Another Monday, another new week and it is it time to decorate the corners!  I seem to have spent the whole weekend dealing with corners but more about that below.  First I need to share with you my card for Friends of Speedy TV challenge 90 which is to make a card with decorated corners.  They can be decorated in any way you like, but I chose to stamp mine and then add the poinsettias. You might want to check out what the others in the FOSTV team did with their corners too.

I started the card by spongeing with distress inks - Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint.  I then stamped the fern from Joyous Season in Peeled Paint and Pine Needles.  The centre Poinsettia is from Poinsettia Blooms and the small corners ones are from Christmas Selections - they were separately stamped, coloured with Copics, cut out and added.   The sentiment is from Poinsetttia Blooms and I used a Spellbinders die for this.

The card was completed amongst an awful lot of clearing and cleaning so I have checked corners of rooms, cupboards and appliances!  It was a physically and emotionally exhausting weekend.  We have been doing the clear and clean of my Mother in Law's house as it is has sold.  It has been empty since November when she went into a care home and we needed to sell it in order for there to be enough funds to keep her there and well looked after.  She has dementia so there was a lot of cleaning to do and in shifting things we found all sorts of odd bits - sadly no treasure!  We scrubbed, polished and cleaned and hopefully the new owners will be happy there.  The house belonged to Dave's grandparents and his Dad lived there from a baby so quite a lot of history.  We hired a carpet cleaner to use as part of the process so I need to find the strength this week for some others - 2 or 3 here and at least one for my Mum.

Hope you all have a great week and get your corners sorted! The FOSTV challenge can be found here as challenge 90 from about 14:00 UK time on Monday.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge 88 - Frame It!

Frame It!  That is what we are challenged with this week at FOSTV.

I wasn't sure how to tackle this challenge but I found this pink piece in my stash which I decided would frame an image.  I then decided to cut a frame for my sentiment too. The image is from Holly Jolly Greetings and the sentiment is from Poinsettia Blooms.  Please head over to the FOSTV challenge page and check out challenge 88 - we would love to see your creations.

Another Christmas card for CCC13 but I could not keep to all pink!

CCC13 - Christmas in July - Rocker Cards

Yesterday in the Marks Finest Papers Christmas in July everyone made cute little rocker cards.  As I still had to make my 13 cards for CCC13 for July I set about them today.  Half were coloured with Copics and the other half with Prismacolor pencils.  I am not good at repeating a design but today I made them all roughly the same. I used the Poinsettia set for both the image and the sentiment.

Here is the group shot and yes I did use a variety of blues for the card bases.

Here is one of the cards

These rocker cards are something a little different so I am glad I gave them a try.

FOSTV51 - Happy Holidays

Good morning to you.
I am sorry I am going to moan to start with today.  I hate the saying "Happy Holidays" which people have started using in the UK to avoid offence.  Saying Happy Christmas is not seen to be politically correct!
We are a country still aligned to the Church so it is Happy Christmas and that is what I wish for you all.

Anyway today's challenge, number 51 at Friends of Speedy TV, is to make a Holiday card so mine is a simple Christmas card just using the sentiment from Poinsettia Blooms and my Cricut.

We hope you join our challenge this week, despite all the busy days right now and also that you join us this week for our Blog Hop which starts tomorrow.  There is a stamp set to be won by one person playing along this week at FOSTV and a chance to win the new sets by commenting on the blog hop posts.
