Miko Master

My nephew starts a new job on Monday and "I won't be driving a car like that!".  Yes that was what he said when I presented him with this good luck card.  Seriously though he was chuffed with the card even if the car was an old classic and not something "cool".

He will be working for Miko coffee and will be doing quite a bit of driving in London and the South East, hopefully not with a coffee cup this big on the roof.

All the stamps are from Marks Finest Papers

Good luck Ryan - hope it works out well for you.

Another Christmas Card - High Hopes Snowman

I don't normally work on coloured cardstock when stamping but as this is a single layer card I decided to do something different.

The High Hopes image was stamped in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  I then used Prismacolor pencils to colour him in.  I created the snow at the bottom with my Versamark pen and more white embossing powder.  I then framed the other 3 sides with sticky ribbon trying to keep it even and therefore a square.  The snowflakes are stickers and the large ones have pearl centres.  The holly on the snowman's hat has red pearl berries.

I love the High Hopes snowmen and this one I have had for quite a while.

CCC14 - September

Really getting cracking with my Christmas cards now and here are my bakers dozen for September.  Some use the chalkboard technique but others are just me!  I have incorporated a few other challenges too.

FOSTV 140 - Card for a Child

Good morning - I hope it is a good one where you are.

This time at FOSTV we are making cards for children and boy did I struggle.  I have a child in mind but getting the card to work was a challenge.  I started it when away from home with limited supplies and that is where I went wrong.  It would have looked totally different if I had begun at home I am sure.  Anyway it is done and I think it is OK.

Shown below is the front and then follows a view of the inside.

In real life it sparkles quite a lot because of the glitter, shimmery paper and sequins, not to mention the outline stickers and glimmer spray.

The FOSTV challenge last for 2 weeks s you have time to play along.  There is a fun stamp for Coffee Lovers for someone to win.
Have fun and come back soon.

CCC14 August Cards

The CCC14 challenge for August is to use torn paper on your cards.  Not great with torn edges BUT I did make snow drifts and rough ground to come up with these cards.  The backgrounds are sponged with various inks and all the stamps are from Marks Finest Papers.  The cute snowman is from a recently released set called Brrrr and the wise men are from the mini set called Wise Men.

These cards were all made yesterday on our lovely wet, and I mean wet, UK bank holiday.

FOSTV139 - Using Eyelets

I have only stamped a sentiment today and then created the star out of eyelets and some gold fibre.  The sentiment is from the set Poinsettia Blooms

The card I used for sky has great sparkle so I had to take several photos to capture it.  A simple card but I wanted to make the eyelets key to the design.

We would love you to join the challenge at FOSTV this week.  Hopefully most people have eyelets somewhere in their collection.  You can find details of the challenge here FOSTV139.

FOSTV 138 - Joy Fold Card

This week at MFP for our FOSTV challenge we are making Joy Fold Cards.  All the details can be found here.

I am keeping this post short as I am away at friends and don't have much time right now.

My card is an anniversary card and uses the flowers to fasten closed.

If you can please play along and you could win the set called Halloween Selections.  Have a great week.
