The card I made with this set is 7" square.  I hope the postman treated it carefully as it was sent for a Birthday on Sunday to a friend in Cornwall who is bravely undergoing some heavy cancer treatment right now.  Get well soon Andree.  I featured Daffodils as the Daffodil is the emblem for Marie Curie Cancer care.  The sets used include
Daffodil Greetings
Tree Greetings
Scenic Selections
Works of Art

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge 87 – Use Metal

Today's challenge over at FOSTV is to include metal on your card. It is challenge 87 which can be found on the FOSTV challenge page. My card has brads so that is a metal element but I decided to make it a bit more challenging and added some die cut Coke can flowers.  I used a Cuttlebug die to cut the flowers, embossing folder to add some texture and alcohol inks to add some colour.  The background panel is also embossed with an embossing folder. The sentiment and one butterfly are from the set called Daffodil Greetings and I also used Scenic Selections and Dragonflies.  The panel with the butterflies was made using embossing powder resist for the butterflies and then Gelatos used to add the colours.

I have included a close up picture of the flowers and you can see the embossing and colours.  One flower has a card-candi centre as the metal centre went "walking"!

Thank you for dropping by.  My nephew has a Birthday today so "Happy Birthday Ryan".
Have a great week everyone.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Purple

Purple is a colour I love to play with so when I saw this week's Speedy Fox and Friends challenge was to use purple I had to play along.  I tried to keep my card simple and used acrylic blocks to create my background and then stamped over them - the purples are all Memento inks and the grass image is from the set called Buffalo Spring, the butterfly is from Scenic Selections and the sentiment is from Daffodil Greetings. The card base is an off white pearlescent colour.

FOSTV75 - Vacation

Happy Monday to you. At last the sun is shining in the UK and some people may be thinking about holidays and getting a break.  In the USA the children are already out of school for the summer but as we all know there are at least 6 more weeks to go here - here's hoping the teachers have the resources both mental and physical to cope until then.

Today's challenge at FOSTV is to make a card or project relating to holidays (aka vacations).  Most of you will probably think of summer breaks in the country or by the sea but some may think about winter or city breaks or indeed holidays at home. I went for the easy option a palm tree against the sunset - one of my favourite times - sunset, especially on a beautiful beach.

The card uses 3 MFP sets
Flamingos on Vacation
In My Den
Scenic Selections

We would love you to join our challenge so please do check it out here - it will be challenge 75.  There will be a prize (Corn Ears Mini) for one lucky participant so it is certainly worth having a go!

See you soon.

FOSTV62 - Inspiration Challenge

Today's inspiration challenge at Friends of Speedy TV is a great one.  The photo is lovely and I thought I knew what I was going to do but my ideas and my creating skills did not match.

I wanted beautifully scrolled ribbons connecting my cake and my numbers but the scrolled ribbons came unscrolled within minutes so I had to rethink.

This is my card.
I used Big Cupcake Mini (the free set if you buy this month's release), the butterflies from Scenic Selections and a sentiment from Fabulous Dogs.  I used Spellbinders dies for cutting and embossing and Copics for colouring.  The butterflies have Stickles on their wings.

If you take up this week's challenge you could win the stamp set In My Den.
Check out the challenge over at Friends of Speedy TV. Have a great week.
