FOSTV114 - New Home

This week's challenge at FOSTV is to make a new home card.  I knew I wanted to use the little mice from the Yikes a Mouse set but what to use as a "home"
I used stamps from Welcome Poppies and Buffalo Spring to create my cornfield as their little home. The sentiment is from Primitive Farm.

On the inside I created a show of poppies with the little butterfly from Spring Things.

The prize for participants this week is the New Year set which looks like this

You can find details of the challenge via this page - it is challenge 114 and we would love you to play along with us.

I hope you keep safe and warm in your home this week.

FOSTV91 - Animals

This week's challenge at Friends of Speedy TV is to use an animal.  Now the problem was what animal to choose - my selection of Marks Finest Papers stamps include quite a few animals.  Neither of my cards turned out as planned but I think they are both OK.

My first card is inspired by South Africa and the elephants.  I used the set called Wild and Free on this one.

My second card is inspired by one Michelle Zindorf did some time ago but is nowhere near as good.  I used 3 stamps sets on this one North American Woods,Buffalo Spring,Marsh Silhouettes.

I did not get enough embossing powder on when I added the blue ink so the wolf got a little spoilt.

I left sentiments off both cards as I am unsure where they will go and for what occasions.

If you find some time this week please pull out your animal stamps and join our challenge.  You will find it as challenge 91 on this page

Speedy Fox and Friends - Purple

Purple is a colour I love to play with so when I saw this week's Speedy Fox and Friends challenge was to use purple I had to play along.  I tried to keep my card simple and used acrylic blocks to create my background and then stamped over them - the purples are all Memento inks and the grass image is from the set called Buffalo Spring, the butterfly is from Scenic Selections and the sentiment is from Daffodil Greetings. The card base is an off white pearlescent colour.

FOSTV Challenge 9 for 2012

The weeks seem to fly past lately - it is Monday again and fortunately I have the day off work.  I am sorting out my craft space and getting in one holy mess.  Hopefully I will be glad I did it when I get to the end but if you are like me you usually find a few things near the end that have "no home"!  I completed this card before the major sort out began so I am really glad I did.

The challenge at  FOSTV this week is to use embossing.  Now you could use dry embossing by hand or with an embossing folder or you could you embossing powder and a heat gun - I got a bit of both onto this card..

The brown background card is embossed and then lightly sanded.  The main image was stamped onto a brayered background and then coloured with pencils.  The grass and sentiment were stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed.  The cat, sentiment and grass are from two different MFP sets - Big Cats and Buffalo Spring. Please join in the challenge this week - we would love to see what you create.  You can find the challenge here.  I am also entering this card in a recent inspiration challenge IC324 and the inspiration piece I chose is this one

Take care and have a good week.
