I participated in last week's hop but you will also find my cards at the end of today's hop.  Please visit all the blogs in the list below.

Using Asian Delights as well - this card uses cranberry embossing powder and shades of pink ink

Using Be Virtuous as well.  The fan was masked so I could stamp the leaves and sponge through the stencil to make the background.  The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinders die.

Here's the Design Team for this week's hop:

Come on back tomorrow for more creativity.

FOSTV107 - Black and White

Where has the day gone - well fighting with my printer after upgrading to Windows 8.1, preparing loads of questions and answers on perimeter, area and volume and then finding my student needed help with a completely different topic - all good fun!  Sorry this post is late though.

This week over at FOSTV we are making projects in black and white - we all did cards this week but you can make anything fitting the theme as long as it is something new and you only enter it for one Marks Finest Papers challenge.

My card has an oriental flavour but I have not designated it for any particular occasion - sometimes when I don't have a recipient in mind I prefer to leave them this way.

The flowers have been spritzed with a glimmer spray so look far prettier in real life and the white piece stamped with the umbrellas and fans was also embossed.  The Asian ladies are from the set called Asian Delights and the umbrellas and fans are from a new set called Umbrellas and Fans.

Please join us in this challenge; we would love to see what you create.  Hope you have a good week.

FOSTV70 - Use Tissue Paper

Monday has rolled round again and I need to have a creative week as I have lots of things to get done.

Before I start though I want to show you my card using Tissue Paper which is our Marks Finest Papers challenge over at FOSTV this week.  It is challenge 70 and you should see it go up sometime today.

This card uses two MFP sets which I have added at the bottom of my post.  It also uses vellum, some shimmer paper, Edgeabilities dies and a large M-Bossabilities folder from Spellbinders, ribbon, a dragon fly punch and some added gems.  The tissue paper was stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder before being turned into flowers - pieces from Christmas cracker decoration were used as flower centres.

Instructions for how I made these flowers can be found here

The card is for my sister's Birthday which was yesterday but she will get it when I see her tomorrow - I hope she hasn't found my blog today!

Please visit Speedy TV and play along with our challenge this week.  There is a lovely little stamp set to be won.  Making something using tissue paper isn't too big an ask and if you use MFP stamps you double your chance of winning.  You can combine with other challenges so as long as it is something new we would love to see it.

Stamp sets used were Asian Delights and Birds and Trees.

FOSTV61 - Yellow, Fuschia and Black

I am doing a class at MCC and last week we were trying out various techniques of resist.  On this card I tried the Joseph's Coat technique with a set from Marks Finest Papers called Asian Delights.  Now compared to many of my FOSTV team colleagues card this lacks a little class but it was fun to try.  Don't forget to check out all their cards.

I used distress inks and glimmer mists first in yellows and pinks to create the background. Once it was dry I embossed the images in clear embossing powder and heated.  I then added lots of black (Adirondack Pitch Black).  When it was all dry I trimmed and attached to a bright pink panel and stitched it down.  The yellow card base is stamped with the pagoda image and the black panels are embossed.

OK it is now your turn to design a project to meet our colour challenge and you stand a chance of winning the set Enjoy the View.

You can check out the challenge over at MFPSpeedyTV and you will find it as FOSTV61.  Good luck and have a great week.

Sentimental Sundays - Wings

Used this image from Katzelcraft and some Pan Pastels - my first play with them to create the image for this card.  The greeting and the oriental symbols are from the Asian Delights set recently released by Mark's Finest Papers.

Asian Delights

Welcome to Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Company's
    July Blog Hop!

This month's New Stamp Set Releases are
Asian Delights Featured July 17
Wild & Free Featured July 18
Garden Art Featured July 19
Hot & Spicy Featured July 20

I have made 3 cards using the Asian Delights set.  Some look far better in real life than they do here and getting photos was a challenge.
The first one, a simple card, uses embossing powder on the oriental symbols with silver outline sticker strips and some oriental paper.

My second card uses the VLV week 2 sketch for July with some gilding flakes on the oriental ladies.  It was a very difficult card to photograph.  I took a close up photo too so you can see the ladies better.

My third card uses the faux window technique and I am entering it in this weeks Jugs challenge.

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!) All four winners will be announced on July 21, 2012 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!) The deadline for commenting is 11PM EST on Friday July 20, 2012.
