FOSTV 41 - Distressing

Hi - Welcome to a new week and to another FOSTV challenge.  This week we are distressing and the team have used a whole mixture of sets.

My card uses the wolf from the North American Woods set and I am sending it to my nephew.  He is a very outdoors kid, always has been, so I think he will like this card.  My 3 nephews have their birthdays 3 months running so I have to think masculine cards - their Dads then follow!  It is good that Marks Finest Papers make so many nice masculine images.  I have made a Flap Card and there is a tutorial from Kathy which is easy to follow on Speedy TV which you can find here

Daring Mojo

OK so the card is not very daring but it is for a colour challenge on the Daring Cardmakers blog and also uses the Mojo Monday sketch.

The stamps used are from Verve and I have used both Memento and Adirondack inks.  I embossed the part white circle with a Spellbinder M-bossability folder, used dies to cut the other circles and sponged them both.  The butterfly is coloured with Copics.  The lovely rusty brown ribbon was from my stash.

My husband has been out to football, his team won 4-1 so he should be in a good mood when he gets home.  It is World Cardmaking Day today and so far this is my only card!

2 Dates Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Carol and Denis.

I made this card for Carol who works for the company I used to work for as she asked for it for their anniversary.  The information she gave me "I need a 10th Anniversary card for my husband.  We got married in Kauai (one of the Hawaiian islands) in a thatched chapel in a palm grove - so if you just happen to have something along that theme, that would be great."  I found out they were married on October 4th but the time meant it was the 5th here in the UK so they celebrate on either day or both.

The card is quite large and I have photographed a few bits in close up.  I think I "interpreted her specification" quite well and I hope Denis liked it!

The time on the beach after the wedding

The chapel for the wedding

The tropical flowers of Hawaii

I used several stamp sets and coloured with Copics.  Thank you for looking - have a great weekend.

Penny Black Anniversary

I made this anniversary card to add to my box in the office.  Even though I have officially left my job I am back on contract and people are still asking for cards.  All the anniversary ones were gone from the box so this is one I added.  I sponged Expresso Truffle and then stamped with it too.  I added touches of colour with Copics and sheen on the butterfly wings with some painted on perfect pearls mist.  The card for the Stampin sisters in Christ challenge to feature music, looks much nicer in real life than in this photo.  Thanks for looking.

Playing the numbers game

I wanted to make a card for this weeks Jugs challenge which was a wild card one to include a number but I also wanted to try and improve my Christmas card collection.  I also decided to try and make the card in line with the Sentimental Sundays 3-2-1 challenge - yet more numbers.

This is the card I came up with.  It has 1 image (the santa from Holly Jolly Greetings), 2 sentiment panels (can't remember the company) and 3 gems to finish the card at the bottom.

I used the SC403 sketch but turned it to a vertical rather than horizontal strip.  The ink is Memento Rusty Hinge sponged and then stamped.  The holly is just embellished with Copics.

Thank you for checking this out.

FOSTV 40 - use Chipboard

Hello and welcome to a new week at Friends of Speedy TV.   Can you believe it is October already?

The challenge this week is to use Chipboard on your card or project. I found some chipboard pieces in my collection that I got free with a magazine but I did not really like any of them.
I went back to square one and found some backing board from a pack of card blanks and used that to die cut these hearts (plus some extra action with scissors!!!).  I then spritzed them with 2 shades of glimmer mists and edged them with ink.
For the rest of this anniversary card I used the little bird from the newly released set called "Tweet That" and mirrored him to give his mate.  I then coloured them as a boy and a girl!  The sentiments are from the set called Forever Together Mini.

If you dig out some chipboard and play along with our challenge this week you could win one of the sets from MFP.

Bring on the Sun stamp setThe set is called Bring on the Sun - gorgeous sunflowers - you will want that in your collection!

We would love to see what you create.

Thank you for visiting - I do appreciate your support.
