Friends in Spring Colours - FOSTV161

This week's FOSTV challenge is to bring a touch of spring to our cards with some lovely
Spring Colours
I know the days for many are still grey and cold so adding some pretty colours is sure to cheer things up and I hope my card will bring a smile.  This is my first flowerpot card.

I used the Huge Blooms stamp set.

I hope spring will find you soon with some lovely flowers, sunshine and colours.  Don't forget to play along.

FOSTV 153 - Die cuts or Punched Items

It is another new week with Friends (FOSTV) and this week it is die cuts or punched items.  I really feel this card has a spring feel about it and I enjoyed making it.  Yesterday was beautiful here - warmer than of late (about 6 degrees centigrade) and really sunny - it certainly felt as though spring might be approaching.

My card was made using the set Huge Blooms from MFP Stamp Shop and Memory Box Perky Poppy die as well as a Spellbinders die. It was coloured with Copics.  I haven't done it yet but I may turn the cut out piece into a tag.

Hope you have a springy week!

FOSTV144 - Moving element on a Card

I suppose I took the easy option for this one making another waterfall card.  This one I was asked to make and as it qualifies as a card with a moving element I am sharing as part of this challenge for FOSTV144.

The card uses a variety of MFP flower sets.  I made one panel for each season wishing for a great year ahead rather than just a single day.

We would love you to play along with our challenge this time around. You have two weeks to create a card with something that moves.  Please check out all the other team members cards too.
You can find our fortnightly challenge on this page - look for the one in large type each time.  There is always a prize for one participant and this time around it is the set Sand Dollar.

FOSTV125 - Gift Bag

Hello it is Monday again and that means a new FOSTV challenge.  FOSTV 125 challenge is to make a gift bag and here is mine.  Some careful edge punching, folding, die cutting and colouring and this is the result.  My sister loved it but it is her colours and mine to be honest!

This is a close up of the flower from the Huge Blooms set.

Thank you for checking this out - please join in our challenge this week which can be found at Speedy TV here.

FOSTV120 - Purple and White

This week at FOSTV is a purple and white challenge.  Purple is a colour liked by the women in our family and hence this card is staying in the family.  Made for my Mum to give.  I used a new Karen Burniston die that I got for my Birthday and several Marks Finest Papers sets including one launched this week.
Huge Blooms
Dogwood Blossoms
Camellia (New)
Oopsy Daisy
Hum Along

I have lots of photos to share so I hope I won't bore you, but I am quite pleased with this one.

The word daughter is not from MFP.

You can find details of the challenge here and you could win this set.

Have a great Easter week.

Queen Angie - QFTD204

Angie (Oh My Paper on Splitcoast) has become a great long distance friend since we both started working together for Marks Finest Papers.  I was thrilled for her this week as she has been away for a well deserved break and has been picked as Queen for the Day at Splitcoast.   I love peeking at her gallery and blog and she is a great champion of mixed media and pretty cards.

I love this circle card she produced for someone undergoing surgery and I used it as the inspiration for my card.

I used the Marks Finest Papers set called Huge Blooms with black embossing powder on watercolour paper that I had shaded with distress inks.  The blue shading does not show up too well in the photo but is actually prettier in real life.

A variety of dies were used and a little glitter added to the butterfly.  Thank you Angie for the inspiration - twice in one week!

Special Day - Angie's Birthday.

Today is hopefully a lovely day for my friend Angie.  We have never met, maybe one day, but she has been a good friend to me.  She is due to be going out with other local friends today and I hope she has fun.  She had a wonderful weekend away with her family.
This is the card I made for her using the newly released MFP set called Butterfly Essence and Huge Blooms.  I used a pink sparkly embossing powder on it, and Copics to add colour.

Huge blooms is my favourite set this month and I have used it in a few different ways.

On this first card I sponged the background using distress inks and a stencil.  The leaves were die cut and sponged. I stamped the largest flower twice and trimmed one so I could layer them.

On this second card I sponged the background with Shaded Lilac distress ink and then stamped the blooms in the same ink.  The yellow blooms were stamped separately and then layered on top.

This last card uses distress inks again - Faded Jeans this time. The image was stamped with Faded Jeans and then watercoloured with a Faded Jeans re-inker.  The sentiment is also stamped in Faded Jeans and a few blue gems randomly added.
