FOSTV144 - Moving element on a Card

I suppose I took the easy option for this one making another waterfall card.  This one I was asked to make and as it qualifies as a card with a moving element I am sharing as part of this challenge for FOSTV144.

The card uses a variety of MFP flower sets.  I made one panel for each season wishing for a great year ahead rather than just a single day.

We would love you to play along with our challenge this time around. You have two weeks to create a card with something that moves.  Please check out all the other team members cards too.
You can find our fortnightly challenge on this page - look for the one in large type each time.  There is always a prize for one participant and this time around it is the set Sand Dollar.

FOSTV135 - Lace and Pearls

Our challenge for this new week at FOSTV is to make a project involving lace and pearls.  I made this gift box which was used to hold some details about a holiday - I was asked to make it after I made a box for my sister's birthday.  I used the set called Dogwood Blossoms.

Please join in our challenge (FOSTV135 which can be found via this page)  and the Christmas in July challenge which you will also find on my blog Monday and Wednesday.

Lace and pearls is actually very apt today.  We are celebrating our Wedding Anniversary.  You can probably tell by the photo that it was a good few years ago - 35 very happy years!

Have a wonderful, loving and creative week.

FOSTV120 - Purple and White

This week at FOSTV is a purple and white challenge.  Purple is a colour liked by the women in our family and hence this card is staying in the family.  Made for my Mum to give.  I used a new Karen Burniston die that I got for my Birthday and several Marks Finest Papers sets including one launched this week.
Huge Blooms
Dogwood Blossoms
Camellia (New)
Oopsy Daisy
Hum Along

I have lots of photos to share so I hope I won't bore you, but I am quite pleased with this one.

The word daughter is not from MFP.

You can find details of the challenge here and you could win this set.

Have a great Easter week.

FOSTV97 - Sympathy Cards

Sorry for the lateness of this post.  Been engrossed in Maths preparation for my lessons this week and now that I stopped for lunch I realised I had neglected to do my post.

This week our challenge at FOSTV is to make a Sympathy Card.  It is a card we all need but one that can be tricky to produce at the last minute so please join us this week and then you will have one ready for when you need it.

There is a prize on offer of the pretty Dragonflies set for one lucky participant and you can increase your winning chances by using MFP stamps.

My card today uses some simple die cut foliage with the pretty set from Marks Finest Papers called Dogwood Blossoms.   I hope you like my card and join in our challenge this week.  Have fun!

More Dogwoods

Having pulled out my Dogwood stamp for my trellis card (see previous post) I used it again on this card with the cracked background from Cracked Hello. The egg is cut with a Spellbinders die and is edged with a gold leafing pen.

Thank you for looking.

Easter Trellis

Cathy Andronicou on the Penny Black blog presented a beautiful trellis card that I knew instantly I wanted to re-create with dies and stamps I had.  I decided to use the pretty Dogwood Blossoms from MFP and my Spellbinders dies to come up with this Easter card for my Mum.  I chose colours after being inspired by the Jugs181 photo which also includes beautiful flowers.  The vine is also a die.

Cathy has good instructions for her card so I was able to use them for this one.  I hope my Mum likes it.

Welcome to Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Company's
   October Blog Hop!

This month's New Stamp Set Releases are
Christmas Selections Featured October 23
Poinsettia Blooms Featured October 24
Cracked Hello Featured October 25
On The Fly Featured October 26

I am pleased we have another background stamp as I sometimes like to layer images and I have played around with the background along with a couple of different stamp sets
Cracked Hello Watermark

My first card uses the rose bud from Love Remains, which I masked before stamping the cracked earth background.  The sentiment is also from today's Cracked Hello set.  I am entering this for the Daring Cardmakers Happy challenge.
My second card uses the elephant from the set called Wild and Free and sentiments from an old retired set (sorry!)  The tree paper is from Papermania.

My third and last card just uses the butterfly from today's set along with Dogwood Blossoms.  I have used the colours (Blush, Coral, White, Sahara Sand, Grey) from this week's Jugs challenge 159.

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!)
All four winners will be announced on October 27, 2012 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!)
The deadline for commenting is 11PM EST on Friday October 26, 2012.

FOSTV39 - Tickets and Tags

I took this week's challenge very literally and actually made some tags.  I needed to get some items off with tags attached and so here are the ones I came up with.

This one went off with a card and is actually quite a large tag as I wanted to write a fair amount on the back.  The papers, ribbon etc. are also from MFP - one of the packs that have all the bits in!  As well as the image from Dogwood Blossoms I have used a stencil to add some dots to the background, and paper pierced two corners .  Apologies for the photo quality - I took it in a hurry just before I sent it off!

My other tags are simple Christmas tags using the set called Snow Gifts.  I left two parcels in the USA with our friends and needed tags for them.  I failed with Christmas wrapping paper but they did get Christmas tags and starry paper.

Many of the others in the talented FOSTV design team were a lot more creative and made cards using tags and tickets so don't forget to check their blogs.  We would also love you to play along this week with us and create something with tags and tickets.  All the friends of Speedy TV challenges can be found here and this week it is challenge 39.  The prize this week is called Island Life - a great set you will want to try and win.

Thank you for looking, have a great week and please leave me a little "love".

Don't forget the Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich company, blog hop starts on Tuesday - don't miss it!!!

FOSTV Challenge - Flowers

Well it is Monday again and this week the challenge over at Friends of Speedy TV (Challenge 17) is to make a card with the theme flowers.

You don't have to use Marks Finest Papers stamps but we would love it if you do and if you don't have any here is your chance to win some!!!  I believe the stamp set on offer this week is the one I have used on this card - Dogwood Blossoms.

I have used CC371 as my colours and TLC373 technique on my background before running it through with an embossing folder.  The sentiment is from the just launched Daffodil Greetings set.  Copics were used to colour and dies were used for the corner and sentiment.

OK so now it is your turn dig out your flowers stamps and show us what you can do!

Thanks for looking and leaving a sweet comment.

A little bit of Spring

Well we did have Spring in the UK and even a big hint of Summer but it has now gone back to grey, damp and pretty chilly!  Hopefully my Spring card will brighten your day and inspire you to enter this week's challenge over at FOSTV.  The challenge this week is Spring Fling and the set you could win is called Buffalo Spring.

My card uses the Dogwood set and for my Spring Fling I am having a tea party.  I used the recently launched Spellbinders dies along with the Dogwood Blossoms set coloured with Copics.

Thank you for looking and good luck in the challenge.

Spring Thank You

My birthday was before the middle of the month and some thank you cards got made and mailed quickly but this one for a good friend is way late.  She sent me a lovely little vase with artificial spring flowers in.  I would love to have it on my desk at work but I cannot guarantee it won't "walk" so it is staying safely here.  This card also has a spring theme and uses two Marks Finest Paper sets - Dogwood Blossoms and Pussy Willows.

I have had a go at the Faux Patina technique (TLC370) but it didn't go too well although it looks OK with this image none the less.  The image is coloured with Copics and Stickles have been used in the centre of the blossoms.
Thanks for looking and I hope if you are in the UK you are keeping warm following the drastic drop in temperature!
