Snowmen - lots of them

Not sure what you call a bunch of snowmen but I have them here.  These are the rest of my CCC15 cards for February.  March cards can start once I have my tags done.  I have used the Sweet n Sassy and High Hopes snowmen on simple cards with just a few dies.

Pink and Brown - our FOSTV colours this week!

Thanks for checking these out!

HHC152, JUGS281 & CCC15 February 2

I am making snowmen cards right now as that is the CCC15 challenge for February and the month is almost done.

For this card I used one of my cute High Hopes snowmen and this week's JUGS colours.  The colours are better in real life but it is so grey today I had to use the light and a lamp!
I am entering it in the JUGS and High Hopes challenges

Here is another view

Thanks for looking and if you have enough snow for a snowman I hope spring finds you soon.

FOSTV155 - Pink and Brown

Our Friends challenge is a colour challenge this week and the colours are pink and brown.  The card I made was mailed to a friend in San Diego for her Birthday several days ago - yes I managed to get ahead on my assignments!

We have been in Cornwall for the weekend and we certainly knew winter still had its grip with cold winds and then loads of rain.  However there are signs of spring - baby lambs and spring bulbs peeping through.  The scenery is stunning in Cornwall and it was lovely to get away.

My card uses the Umbrellas and Fans set launched in 2014 by MFP Stamp Shop and one of my favourites last year.  Papers used were from my stash.  The sketch I followed was from Splitcoaststampers SC523.

Umbrellas at the ready again this week but hopefully parasols in the summer.  Enjoy your week whatever the weather.

OLS13 - Blending

I don't try watercolouring very often as it is not my forte but I gave it a go for the blending challenge at One Layer Simplicity Challenge.  I blended two shades of red and two shades of green distress inks as well as the markers I originally stamped in to colour my tulip. I let it dry before doing the background but the colours ran none the less.  I didn't add a sentiment because I am not sure where it is going right now.

Thanks for checking this out.  Hope spring is heading your way.

FOSTV154 - Diamond Fold Card

This week at Friends of Speedy TV our challenge is Diamond Fold Cards.  Look a little tricky but not at all bad and lovely result for just a few folds. Check out what my team mates have made.

I used the Birds of the Orient set and the colours from CC513 on Splitcoast Stampers a while back.

Our challenge can be found here and we would love you to play along.  The pick of the week for Speedy TV gets a 25% discount code for a shopping trip to the MFP Stamp Shop.  Happy creating!

FOSTV 153 - Die cuts or Punched Items

It is another new week with Friends (FOSTV) and this week it is die cuts or punched items.  I really feel this card has a spring feel about it and I enjoyed making it.  Yesterday was beautiful here - warmer than of late (about 6 degrees centigrade) and really sunny - it certainly felt as though spring might be approaching.

My card was made using the set Huge Blooms from MFP Stamp Shop and Memory Box Perky Poppy die as well as a Spellbinders die. It was coloured with Copics.  I haven't done it yet but I may turn the cut out piece into a tag.

We would love you to join us in this challenge - you can find all the details on my post here

Hope you have a springy week!

Dance in the rain

Life isn't about waiting for the storm

to pass...

It's about learning to

dance

in the rain.”

This is a quote I have liked for some time and remember being sent it on a card when going through a tough patch.  With the umbrella die Dave bought me for Christmas and the dancer digital image (from all dressed up) I made this card for someone else who also likes the quote - hope she likes the card.

I die cut the umbrella from DP and then again from some orange card that went underneath the main section.  The image was printed and then coloured with Copics.  The rain drops were drawn on and then tiny gems added to each one.  I am entering this at Word Art Wednesday.

Enjoy any rain that comes your way.

FOSTV - Romance is in the air

Apologies for this post being up late.  In all the excitement of a late, very late night watching the Superbowl I forgot to do it - sadly the Seahawks lost. Seattle was the first city in the USA we ever visited.  We did get to see them play when we last visited Seattle in 2003.

Anyway on to my card.  The challenge this week at FOSTV is a Romantic card or project. The background was done with a technique new to me (forgot what it is called but Angie just reminded me - Bokeh effect) and I think gives a dreamy look to the card, which I think adds to the romantic feel.
Like a few of my team I used a rose as my image and it is from the Roses stamp set.

We would love you to join us in the challenge this week - not long until Valentine's day!
