Marks Finest Papers has lots of challenges and as team members we concentrate so much on our own projects we rarely seem to find time to play along with challenges being organised by the other teams.
However, today is different and I am playing along with the Speedy Fox and Friends Joseph's Coat technique. There are two people responsible for this - one is Angie who I regularly have lovely email exchanges with and with whom I was discussing this technique this past week. The other is Debbie our leader who posted a tutorial on her blog this week about this technique.
The card uses a multi coloured inkpad with some extra colour sponged on at the edges. I used the MFP set called Oh Beans for my technique and then used the Cricut Suburbia cartridge for my cups. It is a very simple card but when you have created a nice big background you don't want to cover it up!
I tried a larger size cup in some pink paper I had on hand to check proportion and decided it was too big and obscured too much background - that became the gift tag! I then cut a smaller cup in blue but had fun squeezing in the message. The glossy paper I used was not really good enough as the black ink didn't take too well in some places - I think it might have been photographic paper so next time I won't just grab the nearest scrap to work with!
Hope you are having a great long weekend.
Janine,
