Here are my last 4 cards for CCC12 this month. I actually only needed 3 to make my 12 for the month but the paper nicely divided into 4.
These are really simple with some nice paper, a die cut tree, outline stickers for the greeting and some ribbon.

Not so chic but shabby
Pushed myself to make a shabby chic card - not really my style at all. The result is below but to be honest I want to put some bright touches on it!
The card is for 2 challenges - OCC and Stampin Sisters in Christ
Thanks for dropping by.

Another post
This is my last VLVMay2012 sketch - this time week 5 and combined with the Penny Black monochrome challenge. This card was mailed out today to a very dear friend who I hope to meet up with next week.
I stamped the image twice with Memento Rich Cocoa before cutting it out with this lovely Spellbinders die. I sponged the card whilst it was in the die with Antique Linen distress ink. I then coloured the flowers with various shades of brown Copics. Adhesive cream pearls were added to a few stamens and the image was mounted with foam pads onto the background panel.

VLV May Week 3
I am playing catch up this month on the VLV sketches. This is an anniversary card, yes another one, that I made for the week 3 sketch. The stamps are from Verve and the inks are Memento Lulu Lavender and Adirondack Purple Twilight. Papers are all from my scrap trays.
Thank you so much for looking.

Try a new Technique - go on!
This week's Friends of Speedy TV challenge is to try a new technique. Now I have to say this was the push I needed to try soot stamping. I had read about it but thought I might set the paper on fire so never gave it a try.
As you can see I did coloured soot stamping applying ink to the glossy card before making it sooty. I waited until my husband had gone out to try this in case he thought I was mad! Mind you not very sensible because if I had set the paper alight someone to put it out might have been useful!!!
Seriously as long as you are careful it is fine and I quite like the end result using the butterfly stamp from Daffodil Greetings. The tutorial can be found on Splitcoast here
Please join in the fun this week at FOSTV - it is challenge 22 and you could win the set North American Woods which as you can see is a great nature set.

Don't get the hump
This card featuring another fun High Hopes image is for the challenge HHC137 (May Flowers) and also for F4A118 to use Hot Pink and lastly for today's Sentimental Sundays Challenge. The card is on it's way to someone I used to work with and I think she will like it. The image is coloured with Copics markers and the sentiments are computer generated.

Many Layers
Many layers - sounds a bit like marriage! My sister and her husband celebrate 18 years of marriage on Monday so this card is hopefully the one my Mum will give to them. I cannot share the one I made to send from us just yet!
The image is from a newly released Marks Finest Papers set (Oopsy Daisy) and it is coloured with Copics with some added distress stickles. I have used Spellbinders and Marianne dies / folders.
Thank you so much for dropping by - I appreciate it.

VLVMay2012 - Wedding
This card made using Sketch 1 of VLVMay2012 is for a colleague at work to give. She requested the card a while back for a relative getting married in early June - thankfully she is pleased with it. Papers are white, silver and designer paper from Stampin up. The image was coloured with Copics.

Green Pastures
I am posting a scenic card today which hubby is taking to work tomorrow for someone leaving his team. It is not totally green but there is a fair amount of green pasture and tree line so I am entering it for WT376.

Chelsea Girl
This card is made using the cute Penny Black image, a MFP sentiment and some papers from SU which were in my scrap tray. The recycled element is the ribbon and I only had enough to knot rather than make a bow.
I have used the Jugs colours for this week and the sketch from VLVMay2012 Week 4.
I laughed when I saw the Jugs colours late Saturday night after a long day in the office because my husband's football team Chelsea had just won the European cup and their kit although mainly blue does feature some yellow and some white.
A young friend of ours was Baptised at the weekend along with her brother and this card is for her Birthday which is also this week - all the children and their Dad support Chelsea too!
I am entering this card for

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge 21
It is Monday again (yes I know Monday is almost over if you are in the UK - sorry been another busy day!) and that means it is a new Friends of Speedy challenge which you can find here.
This week's challenge is to make a Memorial Day card. I have to say I had to look up Memorial Day as it is not a UK holiday and my card is in keeping with the theme of remembrance but without the USA flavour.
I embossed into the card with a Spellbinders die and used Adirondack inks with sponges to make the background. The butterfly was embossed and then coloured with Copics.
If you join in this week's challenge and are lucky enough to win there is a great masculine set up for a prize. It is a set called Hello Trucks and is one of the great masculine sets that Marks Finest Papers stock. Please join in this week's challenge - we would love to see your creations.

This last set was fun to play with because the images are so crazy. I chose to use it for a card to go to my niece who has started working part time in one of the famous high street stores in the UK in the Women's Wear Department - she won't be able to say anyone looks fat there! I am also entering this one in this week's Stampin Sisters In Christ challenge - use a bird, animal etc!

This second card uses several elements from the set and makes a fun card too. I carefully masked some of the sentiment so I could put a message on this T shirt.
Hope you like the cards I have shared this week. Thanks for hopping along with us and good luck in the prize draw.

Mark's Finest Papers
Once again I have two cards to share today made using the Scenic Selections set.
The first card uses the tree, fence, rock and grass from the new Scenic Selections set plus the fox and sentiment from the What a Fox set
This one with the wintry feel uses a piece of acetate and some stamping off to get the mirror effect and just uses a few of the pine trees from the set plus a sentiment from the Christmas Greetings set. I am also entering this card for this week's Jugs challenge.

As you can see I got out my brayer for these cards. Once again they are simple layouts but I think you will agree the stamps don't need fancy layouts to work
I added some framing elements to this one.

My cards using the Oopy Daisy set are quite simple but it is nice to have a flower set with a few sentiments that can be used in many ways. I think the little ladybird is a great touch!

FOSTV - Paper Piercing
I decided to use this Paper Piercing challenge at FOSTV to add to my Christmas card collection. I made 3 cards each using the Nuthatch image from the Peaceful Nuthatch set. Another set featuring birds is the prize this week - the cute set called Flap My Wattles - you will want to try and win this one!
My images are coloured with Copic markers and the dies are all from Spellbinders with some sponging in Adirondack Mountain Rose ink. The papers are all from my scrap trays.
Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge is to use a creature so I might just enter these 3 cards.
You don't need any fancy equipment for paper piercing - a ruler and a pin are the basics although rulers or templates with holes make it a little easier and quicker. Please join us this week - we would love to see you.

BBB Birthday Wishes
The challenge at Sentimental Sundays is a Birthday card and B embellishments - bling, border and bow are what I have managed using the VLV May week 2 sketch - still to do week 1 and 3!
The image is from Darkroom Door, coloured with Copics and the sentiment is from Verve. Spellbinders dies were used. Papers are from Papermania and Basic Grey.
Hope you like it.

Feather brain
This is my card for this week's High Hopes Challenge which is to use an animal on your card. I kept it simple with just the layering of the cat image and the Oval Nestability to cut it out.
Thank you for checking this out.
Thank you for checking this out.
How is it Monday again?
Not sure where the last week has gone, except I know far too much of it has been spent in the office and not enough time has been spent getting inky. I knew May was going to be a mad month but I need it to calm down a little or I will be in the funny farm! I am sharing a card today which looks far better in real life than it does in the picture - the stamping detail on the background and the shimmer don't show up too well here and it looks more washed out than it is!
The US celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, so the chalenge this week at FOSTV is to make a card for your Mum or Mom. For your incentive this week you are playing for a chance to win this fabulous set which is one I just had to get.
I chose not to use the Magnolia flower as my main image but the daffodil which is more in keeping with when we celebrate Mothering Sunday in the UK.
Thanks for looking - please play along at Friends of Speedy TV
