My birthday was before the middle of the month and some thank you cards got made and mailed quickly but this one for a good friend is way late. She sent me a lovely little vase with artificial spring flowers in. I would love to have it on my desk at work but I cannot guarantee it won't "walk" so it is staying safely here. This card also has a spring theme and uses two Marks Finest Paper sets - Dogwood Blossoms and Pussy Willows.
I have had a go at the Faux Patina technique (TLC370) but it didn't go too well although it looks OK with this image none the less. The image is coloured with Copics and Stickles have been used in the centre of the blossoms.
Thanks for looking and I hope if you are in the UK you are keeping warm following the drastic drop in temperature!

Farewell Lorna
A work colleague who also shares the card making genes left work yesterday to hopefully enjoy a long, happy and healthy retirement. I will miss being able to chat with her about what we have been making but I am pleased for her and jealous of how much creative time she will now have! I am hoping she will join in some of the challenges at MFP and other places try to win some stamp sets.
The card I made for her uses Verve stamps as I wanted to layer up the flowers and this set is ideal for this. I love this sentiment too.
All the best Lorna - do keep in touch.

Waltzingmouse Sketch - 24/03/2012
This card will be mailed out tomorrow so I won't say who it is for. It uses the sketch from Waltzingmouse from last Saturday as a base. Stamps used are from Waltzingmouse with Memento inks.
Penny Black Easter Extravaganza
This card uses a lovely Penny Black bunny and I hope I have done her justice. I have coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and I have used a Cuttlebug embossing folder with Coredinations card as the background.

Monday again
From the perspective of being back to work Monday is not such a great day, especially when you have been away for a few days, but Monday is a good day because it is FOSTV challenge day.
This week we warmly welcome 3 new team members Davi Reid, Tammylee Newberry and Barbara Colbert. We also have another lovely set for you to try and win called Pussy Willows. I really like this set and as you can see I have used it on some of my Easter cards
You will also see I have 4 Easter cards to share with you today and you can see one more in yesterday's post.
Do join in the FOSTV challenge - you never know you might win the Pussy Willows set.

Stampin Sisters in Christ - Bo Bunny
I made this Spring / Easter card using a MFP image and some of the Bo Bunny paper that I won on the SSIC blog hop - thank you it is a lovely pad of papers.
This is a quick post as I forgot to upload it last night.

Jugs 127 - missed the posting!
The Jugs127 challenge was to use Faux Embossing - it was a technique I had never tried before and I coupled it with an H2O and salt tag which was also a new to me technique. I made the card on 11th March and stupidly forgot to post it up!
I used some lightweight bronze paper and a sun style punch but I think it would have been better with something a little thicker to punch.
The tag was made by wetting the tag and then adding splodges of H2Os and then adding some chunky salt. It was left to dry and the salt rubbed off. The flower images were stamped with Versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder. Versamark pen was scribbled around the tag and some other embossing powders added. Some matching fibres were used at the top of the tag.

VLVMar2012 - Week2
Playing catch up on the VLV sketches for March so here now it is week 4 I am posting my week 2 card!
The stamps used are from Verve and the panel on the left was used by running a brayer across a multi coloured ink pad. The card isn't correct for decent brayering but it looks OK as a spring background to the flowers. Now I am back home I have access to the correct sort of card but I quite like this anyway. Thanks for looking and enjoy the weekend.

Penny Black Anything Goes
Not sure where this card came from but it is my entry in this week's Penny Black challenge where anything goes. The background was made with glimmer mists and then the image stamped on it with Memento Tuxedo Black. Thin bleach was then used on the flower. The gold bands were made using a part of a Waltzingmouse Stamp with Versamark and then gold embossing powder.
The bottom border was cut using Spellbinders dies. The white card base was embossed using one of the new m-bossabilities embossing folders.

High Hopes Easter Cuties
This card is for High Hopes Bingo Challenge - challenge 130 and I have used a diagonal row from top left to bottom right - flower, 2 or more HH images and die cut. Had no proper flower with me so had to die cut one. The paper also has flowers!
The images are coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Zest.

Easter - Waltzingmouse & Jugs
Trying to get a few Easter cards made and this one uses the very soft Jugs 128 challenge colours and the Walzingmouse sketch of last Saturday. I have just bought the Waltzingmouse Easter Eggs that match my Nestabilities and I have used two of the images on this card - one on the little egg and one to add some design to the circular layer. I haven't played the Jugs challenge for a few weeks - just seem to be crazily busy but this time I managed to get my card made and uploaded!!!
Sorry been quiet but not home much right now.
Thanks for looking.

FOSTV Challenge 12 for 2012 - Border Punch challenge
The challenge for you all this week at Friends of Speedy TV is to make a card and show us what you can do with your border punch or punches. With all the dies on the market we often forget our punches so go on dig them out and join in the fun. There is another stamp set on offer (Sending Happy Thoughts) as a prize so what are you waiting for?
My card uses 2 punches and the Trip to Lancaster set, plus a bit of the pine greenery from the New Pines set. I make my first visit to an Amish area in September when we visit friends. I have been fascinated since I saw the film Witness.
Thanks for looking - have a great week.

Featured Stamper Harriet
I needed a Birthday thank you so I cased this card by Harriet. I have never entered this challenge before but as Harriet also works with MFP I thought I would give it a go. I brayered the background rather than sponging it, I added a different sentiment and because I wanted to brayer my card isn't the single layer style that Harriet went for.

FOSTV Challenge 11
Well I had another Birthday yesterday but it is one of you that could be getting a pressie if you join us in this week's FOSTV challenge to make a Friendship Card.
The stamp set that one lucky person could win is called Black Eyed Susans for Encouragement.
My card uses this lovely chair image from this set and I stamped it onto a relaxing brayered background. I am playing with my brayer quite a lot at the moment as I have been doing a class at MCC. The card has already been mailed and indeed has made it "across the pond" to my friend in Minnesota.
Do join in this week's challenge as that is a great set to win.
Thank you for visiting and commenting.
