Belated Blues

This card uses the VLV Week 4 sketch for January, some K&Co paper, a couple of dies, a simple stamped sentiment from Verve and some decoration.  The flowers are from my box, the leaves are punch with the MS punch and some Stickles have been added to the centres.  The colours are for this week's colour challenge on Splitcoast (CC360).

Valentines Pouch

3D projects and me usually lead to loads of stuff in the bin and nothing worth showing.  Despite that I decided to do this week's  Jugs challenge and combine it with the High Hopes one.  I have used a cute little monkey image from High Hopes, a template from Milkwood designs and a heart die from Memory Box.  The heart stamp used on the background is this month's freebie from Craft Stamper magazine and it was stamped in 3 shades of Adirondack inks.  The monkey was coloured with Copics markers.   It is nothing fantastic but still an achievement for me!

FOSTV Challenge 5 for 2012

Hi - I think it is FOSTV challenge 5 but the weeks come round so quickly I can easily lose track.  With this Monday's challenge I decided to make it harder and create a guy card.  Stupidly I also chose to try the Belleek Pottery challenge with it which meant using pale colours - I did use a bit of chocolate and kraft to add a masculine feel.

My card uses the sentiment "Boys never grow up their toys just get bigger and more expensive" and because this is a sentiment only challenge and because toys can be all sorts I decided a couple of cogs would work well.  The embossing folder used is from Cuttlebug and the dies used are from Spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers and we would love you all to join in our sentiment only challenge this week.

Hope your week goes well and please pop by Speedy TV and the other players blogs.

Hubby's Birthday but Rubbish Weekend!

It's been another crazy week at work and getting this card made has been quite a challenge - note to me - do it earlier next time!  Having felt and been unwell at work on Friday going out for Birthday meals was off the agenda and then I had to work both yesterday and today so Dave's birthday weekend has been a write-off.  He liked his card though and the Big Bang Theory T-Shirt and DVDs Mum and I got him.

Fortunately we both have tomorrow off so hopefully we get get some time together and enjoy some shopping.

The card is a simple easel card and the cute image is from Lili of the Valley and it was coloured with Copics..  The sentiment is from Verve.

The buttons on the base that help to hold the card up were bought at a craft fair.

Woody is 5 soon!

A friend at work has two doggy friends whose Birthdays she never forgets and I get to make her cards.  This one is for Woody and uses the sketch SC369.

I am also entering the card for the WT359 Challenge - Looking Back.  The idea was to use at least two of the previous challenges and I think I have done that!
I have included stickers (WT357), beads (WT353), digital papers (WT354), a little piercing (WT326), die cuts (WT325), boys stuff (WT320) and it is for a Birthday (WT309).

The stamp is from Penny Black and it was coloured with Copics.  Thanks for looking.

Birthday Time

Its another Monday so that means another challenge over at Friends of Speedy TV (look for challenge 4 later today).

This week it is Birthday cards so another easy one for everyone to take part in.  I noticed the CAS cards that people were doing this week relating to an SCS challenge so that was the basis of my card which uses the Pussy Willow set.
Do join us this week

Morphed Mojo

I started with a High Hopes image and the Mojo Monday sketch and ended up with this little High Hopes Winter Wonderland.  My interpretation of the sketch is a little loose but wanted to use these dies as they give a nice icy feel.  I have added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the icicles.  As you can see I have been making up for a work overloaded week with some creative time this weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

Heart, Dies, Love and Life

I know Valentines Day is just around the corner but I seem to be in a romantic spell this weekend. The sketch used for this one is Week 3 of Viva La Verve for January 2012.  I am also entering the card for Sentimental Sundays and Stampin Sisters in Christ challenges for today.  The requirements are dies (with a sentiment of course) and a stand out heart respectively.
I used dies from Spellbinders along the card base and the designer paper, plus the heart die for my heart.  I then used a Marianne die for the embellishment round the heart. The sentiment on the heart and on the vellum strip are from Verve.  The paper is from Dovecraft.

Hope you have a good week and if you don't please read the post about biting the head off the doll on the Stampin Sisters in Christ site.  Janine

Two Hearts Wedding

This card could be used for a Wedding and also an Anniversary.  It uses the SC367 sketch, F4A100 to use two hearts or more on your project - actually the sticker behind the pearls is a row of hearts!  I am also entering the card in this week's Penny Black challenge to use a bargain and CC358 because I used two shades of pink, red and a neutral..  The stamp was bought in the post Christmas sales and the stickers and pearls were bought during some closing down sales.
The image is stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with watercolour pencils.  A white H2O is then used on her dress.  The paper was on my scrap pile and I can't remember who makes it.  Heart outline stickers where added down the left of the DP and then the adhesive pearls placed on top.  The hearts are die cut with a Spellbinders die.

Thank you for stopping by.

Trifold Fun

Well having seen Beate's video I was all fired up to make this card using the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch.  I used a substantial white card for the tri-fold - next time I will choose a lighter weight! I worked out this cute new image from Lili of the Valley would work well in a little circular window and I managed to find a punch that I thought would hold it shut.  It won't hold shut thick card without ripping!!!  Well with some extra improvisation I have a finished card and I am quite pleased with it.

I am entering the card in the following challenges
SFF012012 - the sketch
Jugs120 - a colour challenge  pink, red and white
Stampin Sisters in Christ 122 - use something new - my stamp was a lovely gift for Christmas

This is the full card inside when opened up.
This is the full view of the image inside

Thank you so much for looking and leaving comments.  Hope you are having a good weekend.

Grab those pencils

Today at Friends of Speedy TV we are encouraging you to find your pencils and use them again - there so many sorts of colouring pencils and other media that are languishing unloved in cupboards and drawers now we all have our Copics or other alcohol markers.  This week we are encouraging you to get them out and use them.  Like me you might be a little rusty with them but see what you can create.

This little flower always remind me that winter does turn to Spring.  It is from the set called Winter Crocus.

Hope you are able to join in the fun.

Border, Bows, Birthdays

This card is sadly going to arrive late but better late than never!  It uses the wall and flowers from MFP "Brick Wall"set and the Happy Birthday from the "What a Fox" set.  I have used Adirondack, Distress and Memento inks, clear embossing powder, Copics, an EK success border punch, Spellbinders dies, an embossing folder and some sheer white ribbon.  The papers were from my scrap trays.

I will post it on this week's MFP challenge and enter it on the Sentimental Sundays challenge to use ribbon.

Thanks again for looking and a special thank you to those that comment.

Snowflake Ornament

I have merged the VLVJan2012 week 2 sketch with TLC342 fill the opening - TLC359 is to go back and do one of the ones from last year - I did not know what to go for but eventually chose 342.

I die cut a red scalloped bordered square to go inside the card so red would shine through and tie in with the twine and gems I had used on the front.  As I added the border strips before cutting the opening in the front of the card I have a decorated ornament to use on another card.  The blue DPs are from a pad from DCWV.  The snowflakes are all cut with Spellbinders die and their border strips are used to cut the bottom border with the holey pattern - backed by white paper..

Thank you for looking and for those who stop to comment.  God bless you this week.  Janine

6 Collaged Doves

This week's JUGS challenge is to use collaged stamping.  When you do something like this and it just happens it is one thing, doing it for a challene when you have also decided to make another 6 Christmas cards is another!  The first one I came up with is not pictured but here are the 6 using GinaK stamps that I ended up with - all slightly different but based on a theme.
I am also posting a close up of the front one so you can see that I really did layer the stamping.  Spellbinders dies were used apart from the corner element on the back card which is from Memory box.

6 Times the Snow

Sorry to those that have snow and have had enough of it, because I have 6 snowy cards to share today.  I have used VLV Jan2012 week1 sketch with a GinaK stamp and an Inkadinkado sentiment.  I have tried to use colours to fit with CC357 but I swapped the flower for a snowflake or two.  The cards are quite simple but if I don't go mad I can get some Christmas cards done each month and still do others and not panic later in the year - well that is the theory.
Thank you for looking and have a great Friday and weekend.

Inspiration Challenge - Close 2 My Art and OCC Show Us Your Shape

Well quite how I ended up with a tea cup I don't know as the inspiration piece I chose was a tea pot (yes I am often called that!) but this is the shape I used and the colours are very much governed by the inspiration item.  It looks very simple but it took me quite a while to get it cut and assembled - so used to working with dies these days!

FOSTV Challenge 2 for 2012

Its Monday again, rather later on Monday than when I first tried to write this post but that is the wonder of computers!  Monday means Friends of Speedy TV challenges and today is no exception - this week's challenge is to make a Thank You card.  I have two to show you today so please join in the challenge and make one.

The first is a single layer card using the Pussy Willow set onto a background made with Promarkers a card stencil and the Letrajet.  I used some puffy stuff on the willow buds.

My second card I have called 4 wheels on my wagon - does anyone else remember that song?  I can't get it out of my head.
My card uses the sketch SC366 and the colours from CC356.  The images are from the Trip To Lancaster set and the 'wheels' are made using one of my new Spellbinders dies - present to me!  The green paper is Basic Grey but I cannot remember who makes the spotted one that I brightened with a Copic marker.

Thanks for looking and your comments.  Have a good week.  Janine

CCC12 - Jugs 118 - Sentimental Sundays 84 - Catch the Bug

I have committed myself to 12 Christmas cards a month, perhaps I should be committed!
Here is the first for January.

It uses the Jugs 118 sketch, snow, blue and glitter with  a sentiment for the Sentimental Sundays challenge, a Bugaboo image for the Catch the Bug anything goes challenge and will be added to CCC12 for January as well.
It is coloured with Pencils for a change and has Waterfall Stickles on the die cut snowflakes.  The snowman has a little Star Dust Stickles too.  The sentiment, computer generated, is die cut with another Spellbinders die.

OCC IC317 Engagement Congratulations

For this engagement card I have used 2 challenges and stamps from several companies.
Last Saturday's OCC challenge was to use bright colours of pink, green, yellow and purple.  I was also inspired to use an embroidered image from Embroidery Everywhere.

I used stamps from Elusive images, Amy R and Verve. I have also used a border punch from EK success, a die from Spellbinders, good old scissors and some Stickles.
It is on its way to a newly engaged couple and I wish Laura and James every happiness.
Thanks for looking and even more thanks to those who stop and leave a little comment - they are much appreciated.  Janine

Another Thank You - Mojo Monday 222

The Mojo Monday sketches are always a challenge for me and this one was no exception.  This card is another Thank you one - I assume some of you are better organised and have a batch ready to use - I am still working on mine to send out for the Christmas gifts we were lucky to receive.  The colours used on this card were actually inspired by one of the gifts received from this family so it is a personalised one of sorts!

The stamps used are from Verve and I have used various inks, a Martha Stewart punch, a Stampin Up punch, dies from Spellbinders and a few adhesive gems - plus my sewing machine!

Jugs117

The Just Us Girls challenge posted on New Year's Eve was one of their Wild Card challenges and this time around it was to use felt.
I could not remember if I still had any felt and more importantly where it would be.  Having almost given up I searched one box right on my top shelf and found some felt letters which I used on this simple but colourful card.  The flower is die cut from card using Spellbinders dies.

Thanks for looking.

Inspiration Challenge - Embroidery Everywhere

One of the regular Splitcoast challenges is an inspiration challenge and I have been and checked out the last two.  I have saved some images I like for IC316 to work on at another time but at the moment I have been checking out the Embroidery Everywhere site and these are a couple of cards I have made using this image as my inspiration.  The stamp is called Ella Bella and is from a company called Indigo Blu.

I have another card for the same challenge but I will post that later in the week to reduce the risk of the recipient seeing it before it gets through the mail.

FOSTV Challenge 1 for 2012

It is the first challenge for 2012 over at Friends of Speedy TV.  This week's challenge is to make a Gatefold card and I have incorporated it with a colour challenge on Splitcoast stampers CC355.  My card uses one of the new MFP wintry sets and I have added some glitter (2 colours) to the icicles.  I used a Spellbinders die for the fancy edge. Thank you for looking.

Happy New Year.  Hope 2012 is a good year for you all.
