I wanted to make a card for the High Hopes challenge as today was the first sunny day in some time. I walked my Mum's dog Tess without getting wet which was wonderful. She still got muddy as the grass is really sodden but it was nice to be able to walk around and stop and look without rain dripping down your neck!
My card uses summery colours despite the fact it is only January and lots of butterflies. The image is from High Hopes and the sentiment is an old one from MFP. The lace circle die is from Cheery Lynn and the butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I have also used corner punches, a Spellbinders die, an embossing folder and lots of tiny gems on the butterfly bodies.
I have combined a few challenges here

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!) All four winners will be announced on June 15,2013 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!) The deadline for commenting is 11PM EST on Friday June 14,2013.
The special stamp set is: "You Are an Angel"
The mini stamp set is "Wings"
My cards using Need a Vacation are below. The first one, an easel card, uses the flamingo from the set and a sentiment from Silly Shells. I am entering this one in this month's Ribbon Carousel challenge which has the theme "Fun in the Sun". I think the cute paper gives the impression he / she is having fun!
My other two cards just use images and sentiments from the set, simply presented.
Hop on over to AnJenic next to see what she has for you today.

High Hopes Stamps With The Dragon
These two challenges just happened to gel together so I am sharing this card with you and entering it into this week's High Hopes Challenge and also the Stampin with the Dragon challenge. I find it quite amusing that I chose a High Hopes dragon for my card and layered it onto a tag for the Stampin with the Dragon challenge without really thinking about the image!!! I would like to suggest it was planned but it wasn't.
The card is actually being sent as a Thank You after a BBQ Party on 25th May - better late than never! The card also probably fits the Ribbon Carousel challenge this month - Fun in the Sun as the sun did shine that afternoon even though it was a little chilly.
This week has been gorgeous here in the UK and I hope even if the sun isn't shining on you that you are having a good week.

Sunshine, Showers, Flowers
and Rainbows!
I have been thinking about some of the challenges relating to April showers and then the other afternoon we had both sun and rain together and from the front of the house we could see a beautiful rainbow against the dark threatening sky! The spark of an idea!
I started this card by creating a rainbow background using ProMarkers and their Letrajet system. Haven't used it in ages so not the most even coverage!
I took the sketch from MFT and worked with that. Thanks to a short class at MCC I am rediscovering my Spellbinders Mix + Match Edgeabilities so I used those on the strip at the left side. I intended to thread ribbon up through the cut strip but completely forgot until it was well stuck down so my bow had to be under my flower rather than stemming from that panel. I coloured my lady with Prismacolor pencils and Zest and paper-pieced her umbrella with some sunny flowery paper. The sentiment and image are both from MFT.
I hope you like my card - I must admit I think it does bring in some sunshine! I am entering it in the following challenges (more than usual for me I know)
MFTWSC120 - Sketch

Craft Calendar - Sunshine and Showers
Ribbon Carousel - Showers and Flowers
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Penny Black and More - Blossoms and Bows

MFP New Release week
For this weeks FOSTV challenge please see the post below.
It is Release Week at Marks Finest Papers (a Heinrich Company) and there are lovely sets being released tomorrow. As design team members we get to play with them early and today we are previewing some sets that are not part of this week's blog hop.
My first card, very pink, uses the set called Love Script which I have stamped on some card pre-sponged with distress inks and lightly stamped with perfect pearls and the rose from Love Remains. I also used the same rose from Love Remains stamped and coloured with distress inks and water as the focus. Ribbon, pearls and die cuts in silver - I think this would work lovely for an anniversary. I am entering this card for the challenges
Penny Black and More - Pink, Pearly and Swirly
Ribbon Carousel - Love in in the Air
Wags n Whiskers - Love
This next card, its inside and the last card all use the Mini set this month called Big Cupcake. Copics were used to colour all of these. Stickles were added to the last one.
Thank you for coming to check these outs. Don't forget to come back tomorrow when the Blog Hop begins in earnest.

High Hopes Winter Spirit
My card for today combines 3 challenges - High Hopes challenge to use ribbon (number 161), the Ribbon Carousel challenge for January with a theme of Winter Spirit and my CCC13 challenge to make Christmas cards each month - this one will count towards February!
This uses one of my older High Hopes images, but right in the winter spirit - a snowman going skating.
My snowman ended up a little lopsided, a little like most of the snowmen seen around here a week or so ago. He was cut out with a Spellbinders die. The snowflake is cut with my Cricut and then has some sparkly varnish applied - not that you can see the sparkle in the photo.
The image was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Zest.
Thank you for looking and leaving sweet comments.

Winter Spirit
High Hopes and Ribbon Carousel recently ran a joint blog hop and there were some great cards and lovely ribbons on display. I discovered that Ribbon Carousel have a monthly challenge and this card is going to be entered into that challenge. Now when I think of winter I think of a few things - hot drinks on cold days being one of them. Rather than set this cute little guy up against a snowy background I wanted to incorporate him into another aspect of winter - winter foliage!
The image is an early one from Kraftin Kimmie (Oliver is his name) and I have used Spellbinders dies, a circle punch and some ribbon with him.
I do have one more wintry card to post and that is also for the High Hopes challenge. Next post coming soon.
