Shadow Christmas Cards

Vicki is one of my fellow Dirty Girls and a recent beautiful card she created inspired me to try out the shadow stamping technique. Didn't always get it right but I did make 18 more Christmas cards. The Misti was invaluable for this card making session.

I used die cuts, outline stickers and sequins to embellish some of my cards. Thanks for looking.

High Hopes - Student Card 1

I am making Christmas cards for my students who I teach Maths to on a 1 to 1 basis in the evenings.  This one uses the High Hopes trio of Santa images and some cute and colourful paper.  It is a simple card but with all the colour going on I think it is enough. I believe the sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

I am entering it in the High Hopes Challenge 197 which ends today.  Thanks for checking this out.

We meet Oscar

At the end of 2011 Mum had surgery and we looked after her dog Tess for many months, rather than the 6 weeks originally planned.  As we had a holiday booked Russ and Sue came to our aid and took Tess into their Brighton home.  Tess loved her holiday and the family liked having a dog in the house so this summer Oscar arrived.

Last Saturday we took Tess and went to meet Oscar.  We had a lovely drive, delicious lunch and a great walk with the dogs in the autumn countryside.  Tess and Oscar got on well and Tess slept like a baby when we got her back to Mum's.

I sent a card this week and used the VLVNov Week2 sketch.  The puppy image is Inkadinkado and the words are from PaperArtsy and Elzybells.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your Sunday.

Inchie Christmas - CCC13 for May

I pulled out my Christmas inchies from Inkadinkado this month to give them an airing and used them for my CCC13 collection for May.

I needed them to be straightforward as I still seem to be busy and with MFP blog hop on the horizon I have lots of cards to do for that too.

I also plan to make another bookmark for this week's FOSTV challenge - please do join in that one.

I made two sets each with 7 cards.

The first set are 4" cards (top photo - 3 are at the back) and the others are 5" (next two photos)

I took a couple of closer photos and here they are

Thank you for stopping in - please come again.

Speedy Challenges

Hi - its rather late on a Sunday night UK time but I am quickly posting 2 cards I have made for challenges on Speedy TV.  I don't often have chance to play with the other team's challenges but today I played both the Sketch with a Twist and Simple Salutations challenges.  The Simple Salutations one I teamed with the Jugs170 sketch posted this week.

On this card I used Marks Finest Papers butterflies (yes I have a few!) but the sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque.  I have "stretched" the sketch a bit but I did stick with the colours of black, white and silver.

Sketch with a Twist 27

On this card I used a Marks Finest Papers sentiment and and image from Inkadinkado - this is going to hubby on his Birthday later in the month and we had a Golden Retriever so had to use the right sort of cute puppy!

Simple Salutations26 & Jugs170

I will be back tomorrow to share my card for the latest Friends of Speedy TV challenge - please pop back and thanks for looking.

Text Me

The Jugs challenge this week is is to get out a variety of text stamps and make a collaged text only background or focal point for your project.  Now I did this but I also did a cheat and used the lovely new Woodware stamp and some Cranberry and Gold embossing powders on the other card.

The challenge card on the right uses stamps from Woodware, Verve, Penny Black, Gina K, Inkadinkado and Waltzingmouse with a selection of Memento inks plus antique linen Distress ink.  I did add the cross to my background so Christ is at the heart of Christmas.
