Christmas in July Blog Hop Challenge - Day 3 - Pringles Cookie Container

Welcome to Mark’s Finest Papers a Heinrich Co’s Christmas in July Blog Hop Challenge!

Each day, our designers will make sample projects from tutorials. The tutorials can be found on MFPSpeedyTV.ning.com (You can join for free!)
Participants must play in each of the 5 daily challenges. Participants will need to make samples and upload them to our site with the InLinkz button. Participants should follow the daily tutorial to the best of their abilities. Items can be substituted if necessary. Participants should upload to each day’s InLinkz button.

Participants have until August 10, 2014 at  8PM EST to submit their projects with the InLinkz button.

We will have ONE grand prize winner who will get 5 stamp sets of their choice!
Thanks for joining us today! You have until August 10, 2014 at 8PM EST to submit your projects!

Today's challenge is to make a Pringles Cookie Container. (If you prefer, you could make any season or generic scene. That way you could use it year round!)

Here is Sandy's Tutorial on MFPSpeedyTV

I used the MFP stamp sets Snowflakes and Holiday Tag on my container.  I have shown a small pack of shortbread biscuits - they don't last long in this house!  Obviously for Christmas the pack would be bigger or two packs of fresh shortbread would be included.

Please visit these DT members' blogs for more samples

FOSTV134 - Shaped Card

Hello - the FOSTV challenge this week is to make a shaped card - not a rectangular or square card something a little different.

I started with this card using a Spellbinders die, some white card and some paper that I embossed.  The image is from Please Snow.

I then decided to make a second Christmas card using the CCC14 theme for July - 1 down and 11 to go!  This is it using a Spellbinders die and some freehand cutting.  This time I have used the Santa face from the Holiday Tag set.

You can find details of the challenge on the Marks Finest Papers site and the FOSTV challenge page.  The challenge this week is number 134.  Each week there is a prize for one lucky participant so please play along.

Enjoy your new week.

MFP September Blog Hop - Day 2 - Primitive Farm

Thinking of you all - stay safe and love your neigbours.
Sept. Blog Hop!

This month's New Stamp Set Releases are

Featured Sept 10 - Koi Fish
Featured Sept 11 - Primitive Farm
Featured Sept 12 - What a Scream
Featured Sept 13 - Tailgate Party
Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!) All four winners will be announced on Sept. 14, 2013 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!) The deadline for commenting is 10 PM EST on Friday Sept. 13, 2013.

The special stamp set we have for you this month is: "Holiday Tag"
The mini stamp set we have for you this month is:
"Nature's Brushstrokes"

Today's Primitive Farm set has such a cute house and tree in it so it is those elements I have used on my projects.

My first simple card uses the tree with Memento inks sponged and then stamped.  The decorative corner element is made from a Spellbinders Die

My second card uses the cute house again with Memento inks.  The paper strip is Basic Grey (been in my stash a while) and the stripes beside it were done with Memento pens - my Sakura ones were playing hard  ball. The birds are from Scenic Selections.

My last item is some Christmas tags with rather a lot of added Stickles - air travel doesn't agree with it!  I used the Holiday Tag set with the tree and a Spellbinders die. I haven't added ribbon yet as I am unsure whether to punch the tag and add it there or use the hole in the die shape. I put a punched white tag on the back to write on.

Thanks so much for coming by.

As many of you know we have been on our travels - San Francisco for a wedding, Redding, Crater Lake, Bend, Mount Hood, Lincoln City, Smith River, Fort Bragg and then back home. We have seen some lovely sights, had some fun and driven a lot.  Crafting on route wasn't as easy as I had hoped so my first full day at home was spent doing laundry and trying to get my blog hop cards done.  I had some images stamped and some coloured ready but it has been a bit of a rush.  I hope you like what you see over the next few days but please visit the rest of the team for some great work with the new sets each day this week.
Today I have some projects using Holiday Tags and one for Nature's Brushstrokes - the pretty mini set released this month.  I have some others for the mini later in the week.
