Sympathy all round

My cousin Edna, lost her short fight with cancer on Saturday morning. She is a cousin on my Dad's side of the family and quite a bit older than me - in fact her daughter is almost the same age as me. We used to see quite a lot of them when we were young and last year I caught up with her daughter Heather at my Mum's funeral.

Yesterday I sat down to make 3 cards for different members of her family - one of her sisters, her daughter Heather and son Ian - this is the result of my creative session.

The first one for Ian is inspired by the Abstract Art Pinterest site and yesterdays IC549 challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

The second one for cousin Jean uses a sentiment from the Hallmark Card Studio and a CC designs butterfly. I embossed the black card and rubbed on some Inka Gold.

The last one for Heather uses some recycled paper on the flowers (wrapping off a box of chocolates) and is entered for WT587 challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The image is from Honey Doo crafts and the sentiment is once again from Hallmark Craft Studio. I added a touch of colour to the butterflies with marker pens.

Thank you for visiting and if you are a Splitcoaststampers member don't forget it is a Dirty Dozen New Challenge launch on Wednesday.

  4. So beautiful Janine, I know I saw at least one of these on FB. So sorry for the occasion but they are exquisite and I am sure they brought cheer to the recipients.
