Anyone who doesn't colour will probably not understand why I spent a good while making this card on Friday. My Mum was dying, I could not do anything and I make a card - I know sounds crazy. Thursday evening my Mum had a massive brain haemorrhage and was effectively in a coma. We just had to wait. My sister wanted a farewell card for a friend who is going to Holland so I just got on and made it.
The image is from Carmen Gamble @ Beyond The Fringe Crafts and the words were translated in google and added before colouring with Copics.
Mum passed away Friday evening and we are all trying to come to terms with our loss.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May you be comforted and have peace during this very sad and difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card you made, even during that agonizing waiting time. Love the beautiful array of colors you used for the gorgeous tulips. What a sweet and appropriate card for someone on their way to Holland!
Hugs and prayers.

Creating can absolutely be therapeutic Janine! I will continue to lift you all up in prayer to be comforted in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to read of your loss. May you be comforted by memories of your mother in your time of sorrow.
ReplyDeleteJanine, I am so sorry about losing your dear mum! It's so hard...I know from losing mine and then my dad. And it didn't sound crazy at all that you were coloring while you were waiting. It was good therapy at a much-needed time. It's a beautiful card, and I just love the Dutch shoe with tulips so beautifully colored. May God continue to comfort you as you are reminded of wonderful and cherished memories of your sweet mum, sweet friend! Tender hugs!
ReplyDeleteJanine, this is really beautiful! I totally get the coloring. I guess all of us who make cards do get it. Such a soothing way to calm ourselves. You are in my thoughts.
