Stamping in white

Yep you read the title right - bit tough on the old eyes but using my daylight lamp helped.

I only truly stamped and coloured on the first card, as I decided to go with sponging on the 2nd.  I coloured the first card with Prismacolor pencils and Zest.  A simple die cut and plain base was all I felt it needed.  This is for the Splitcoast WOW challenge (TLC518) and was posted today to friends we had lunch with last weekend.  Their youngest is our Godson and we found out he is to be Baptised in March - the last weekend.  That is a date for our diaries!

The 2nd card was sponged with distress inks (Shaded Lilac and Faded Jeans with just a touch of Picked Raspberry on the butterfly additions).  I added the little flower sequins and a piece of paper from a Do Crafts paper pack called French Lavender - very appropriate as this is going to France.  This card is for the January Penny Black challenge

I am off to create again soon but DT work so you won't see those cards just yet.  Happy Weekend!

Giraffe Thank You

MFP Blog Hop - see post below - thank you

This card is a thank you for a lovely lunch I enjoyed this week.  It was a big 3 course lunch and therefore ended up as a substitute for dinner.  I thoroughly enjoyed it but it did mean hubby's Birthday meal had to be postponed!  I was just expecting some smoked salmon with salad after a conversation with my hostess but I was shocked at how busy she had been for our little group. The group that gathered were a few people that met doing the shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. In the lounge she has a beautiful tall and elegant giraffe and hence the inspiration for today.
I am entering the card in 2 challenges - Word Art Wednesday 168 and High Hopes 151.  The yellow choice was because several of us took yellow flowers to the lunch.  Dies were used and the flowers were sprayed with a Glimmer mist.  The centres of the flowers are yellow/orange to match the paper but they don't look it in the photo.

Thank you for checking by and have a lovely weekend.

Happy Birthday Seth

Celebrating your 18th Birthday is something special and this card went off to USA for just such an occasion.

The image is digital (michexist) and was coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. The 18 was die cut with Cuttlebug dies and the sentiments are from MFP (MFP stamp shop) cut out with MFT dies.

Thanks for looking. Have a great and colourful week.

FOSTV151 - Red and Black

Decided on a new year card which was used as a thank you too as my card for this challenge.  My layout is simple allowing the colours to  do the talking.

I used Memento ink as I wanted to use Copics - sadly their black is not quite as black as you would like.

It would be good if you can play along with our challenges - you can find the details of this Red and Black challenge here and we would love to see your creativity.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your week.

High Hopes 250 & WT515 Maths Notes

Hi everyone - sorry I have been quiet - broken laptop means everything related to PCs takes longer and preparing for my lessons and dealing with email has taken all my computer time.

One of my Maths students is my niece Karita and I bought this notebook in a sale and today decorated it up for her.  I used the High Hopes bookworm with letters cut with Cuttlebug dies.  I used an oval to fit my pink on navy panel.  The bookworm was mainly coloured in a style used by Jane Gill at the Craft Barn today - she was doing some lovely work with flower stamps from Woodware.  The border was cut with a wide border punch which I think is made by Martha Stewart.

This project is being entered into High Hopes challenge 250 and the Splitcoast Ways to Use it challenge WT515

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Back Monday.

High Hopes and Jugs

This is a bit of a crazy card but was fun to make.  This is the front of the card using die cuts and a computer generated sentiment

I used the Lots of Pops die on the inside (first outing) and attached my High Hopes lion and various dies to complete my jungle.  The bottom image is a close-up.

I have used JUGS276 colours and the High Hopes Furry Friends challenge
Enjoy your week.

FOSTV150 - Square Card

Quick post on my snail netbook this morning as my Toshiba laptop has died again!

This week's FOSTV challenge is a square card so easy for everyone to play along with.  Details can be found here

Thanks for looking.

Bugaboo's 5th Birthday

Lauren & Nick

I am sure this card must have got there by now so I believe I am free to post it here. It was mailed to Lauren (our niece) at home but I am sure she and Nick have both seen it by now.  The card may not be as romantic as the proposal but I tried hard

They went to Paris for Lauren's Birthday and the question was popped at the top of the Eiffel Tower.  What a great place - Paris was where we went on Honeymoon all those years ago!

Lauren loves her music and sings beautifully and is a primary school teacher.  Nick is a music teacher in Secondary schools and plays in a couple of bands.

My card uses a new embossing folder by Spellbinders that Dave bought me for Christmas and some older images from Katzelkraft.  The sentiment is computer generated but on this and the Paris I used more than one colour as per the TLC515 challenge. The word Love is a Penny Black die and the hearts border is made with Spellbinders dies.  I started with sketch SC522 but felt the urge to tilt my panel and I will be entering this at Word Art Wednesday - anything goes.

Hope they have a great life together.

FOSTV149

My ribbon and a bow card for FOSTV 149 was given to my youngest student on her Birthday when she turned 5.

I used Big Cupcake Mini Stamp set for both the image and the sentiment.  The image was coloured with Copics.  I used Spellbinders dies for the cupcake and MFT dies for the sentiment.  Paper was from my stash - some that hubby bought quite some time ago.  The ribbon was recycled from a gift I received.

Details of the challenge can be found here.  Thanks for looking and I hope you have fun with ribbons and bows this week.

High Hopes 248

This card started from the negative die cut.  Carefully kept all the bits and laying them down on red card was my starting point.  The image is a cute one from High Hopes and I coloured it with Copics.  Sponged the background with Distress inks.
The High Hopes 248 challenge is an anything goes one with a High Hopes stamp.

Thank you for looking.  Have a great week.

Christmas 2015 - CCC15 Jan & Mar

I have been making Christmas cards again today for the CCC15 challenge for January and March.  Thought February was trees but the theme is snowmen so these are for March!!!

My January cards use the main Nativity image from HobbyArt Stamps and a sentiment and star from Wise Men by Marks Finest Papers. The first card was done on watercolour paper and I used Gelatos to add the colour apart from the star which was stamped in Adirondack ink.  The second card was done on a standard white cardstock and the colour added with Adirondack inks

My two March cards use Robin's F4A255 challenge.  One uses bleach and the other salt although my salt wasn't in a good state (no dishwasher salt and lumpy sea salt).  I still liked both backgrounds so used them anyway.  The trees on the first card are a die from Taylored Expressions and the branch on the second card uses the Penny Black Nature Song die.  Spellbinders dies were also used.

Using bleach

Using salt
Thank you for taking the time to look.

FOSTV148 Scenic

Its a new challenge at FOSTV for the New Year and the challenge to start things off is a Scenic card.  I have made two as I made Thank You cards and we all need those at this time of year.  They are both very similar.

Please join in our challenge - details can be found here and the challenge runs until next Sunday.

A little High Hopes Santa

I added another to my CCC15 cards for January today with this little High Hopes card.  I used one Santa from the trio and popped him onto this star. Santa was coloured with Copics. The sentiment is computer generated.  I am adding it to the High Hopes Challenge 247

Here is a closer look at Santa
