My cards using Buried Treasure are quite simple.
The first is for my Nephews Birthday this weekend and will hold some "dosh" inside. When you are 16 you want to choose your own stuff (aka Treasure!). I used a paper that has gold on it and then used distress inks on it, polishing it off the gold. The map was distressed and coloured to make it look old. A few areas were coloured with Copics and the skull & crossbones were coloured with a Picket Fence distress marker. I used SC399 for my card.
Inside the card I added a simple pocket for some folded notes or a gift card.
My second card uses the parrot and is showing parrot like repetitive behaviour. The paper here is from Papermania. Copics were used for the colouring and Memento inks for the stamping.

All four winners will be
announced on September 29, 2012 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go
back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the
more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count
twice!) The deadline for commenting is 11PM EST on Friday September 28, 2012.
Totally love the paper you chose for the first card. DS(5) would totally enjoy the humour of the second!

ReplyDeleteTwo fine cards, Janine. Your nephew is sure to love his 'treasure' and the card. Those parrots can be repetitive when they start chatting, can't they? :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome background on that first card! A great way to give a teenager his birthday gift. And a clever idea with the repetitive sentiment on the second one.
