FOSTV105 - New Years Card with Chalk and Paper Piercing

Christmas is over, Boxing Day is over and the sales have begun so it must be almost New Year.

At FOSTV we are celebrating New Year with Chalk and Paper Piercing.

I made one card for this challenge but wasn't too happy with the piercing.  I then made two more so I am sharing all 3 here today.  We would love you to join us at FOSTV with anything up to 5 cards so pull out your chalks and your piercing tools and show us what you can do.

Not so great piercing!

All is Calm is the set containing the Trees and the sentiment is from the New Year set.
The prize this week at FOSTV is the stamp set called Easter Scene

Have a great week.
On a personal note I would like to wish Lauren a very Happy Birthday and a great time in Bath.

FOSTV102 - White and Silver

We have gone for some pretty wintry colours over at FOSTV this week and our challenge is White and Silver cards (or other projects).  These cards were difficult to photograph (several complained) so when you do join us this week you might want to allow plenty of photographic time and find a good light.

My card uses MFP stamps, some Spellbinders and Impression Obsession dies, ribbon and plenty of sparkle which doesn't show in the picture.

Please find an hour to join our challenge this week - we would love to see your creations.

FOSTV55 - Recycling

Hi Everyone - todays challenge over at Marks Finest Papers Friends of Speedy TV is a recycling challenge - look for Challenge 55 in the FOSTV category appearing soon.

Well I was surprised how easy this challenge turned out to be.  I started with a 2011 Christmas card that I had kept.  With that card and some cardboard from a cracker box, some ribbon from the crackers which ended up in my handbag on Christmas Day this is the collection I came up with.

The original card was a row of three trees and each tree was layered.  The three layered trees ended up on my 3 cards and the base card trees ended up on my 3 simple tags.

These 3 tags use silver card from the cracker box and ribbon from the crackers.  The sentiment is from the set called All is Calm.  The gems are new.

This card was brayered (onto a bit of the stamp packaging from a recent MFP set) and uses the tree stamp from Tree Greetings and snowflakes from the Winter Scenes set.  Glitter was added to clear tape.

This card uses some wrapping paper as the background (it was round my Cricut when I was given it as a leaving gift), a bauble shape I cut when playing with my Cricut which I ran through an embossing folder and sanded to show the core.  The ribbon is from the original card that I "attacked".

This last card uses the final tree, a star cut from the card that was in the embossing folder when I bought it, some ribbon that was also decorating my Cricut parcel and some new backing paper.  It also uses a recent Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch.

Don't forget to come back every day this week to see the new MFP sets and for your chance to win one set.  We are hopping Tuesday through Friday.

We would also love to see what you can do with our recycling challenge and you could win the lovely sunflower set called "Bring on the Sun".

Thanks for looking in today.

FOSTV 45 - Anything Goes

Hello - it's Monday again and it is time for another Friends of Speedy TV challenge.  This week you can all play along as the challenge is anything goes - so what are you waiting for - we would love to see what you create.
There is a prize on offer to one lucky participant of one of the MFP sets ad this week the set is called Christmas Bridge.

As this was an anything goes this week I used the opportunity to make a card using one of the new releases, On The Fly, for my Brother-in-Laws Birthday later this month.  I used white embossing powder, lots of inks for sponging and then some H2Os on the fish to give them some shimmer.

I then decided to make another card in a completely different style, a further card to add to my Christmas collection.  I made this one as a twisted easel card.  I used the trees and sentiment from the All is Calm set, and the snowflakes from the Ice and Snow stamp set.  I added glitter to the snowflakes and the flowers on the base.

MFP October Set - Enjoy the View

Sometimes living in the UK has its disadvantages and this week I was reminded of one of them - post takes longer to get here from the USA than you would like!  The stamps I have used on this card, well the window one, didn't get here in time for me to use it for the hop but it has now arrived so I am showing it off a bit late.  I have combined Enjoy the View with the set called Christmas in the Country, carefully positioning the window to hide the moose (we don't see many of them here!!!).  The robin (well almost a UK robin) and the poinsettias are from Christmas Selections

Today is one of those days when you are happy to be in the warm, with your loved ones, looking out on the wintry scene.  It is not snowing here, but it is up north, and even here it has turned cold and windy.  The damp in the air makes it cold.

The little photo on the wall is a scaled down digital image and the little frame is one of my original Spellbinders dies.  Thanks to Angie, one of my DT members for this idea.

The sentiment on my card is from All is Calm stamp set.

Thank you for checking this out.  Have a great weekend.
