VLV Feb 2014 Week1 Sketch and Colours
It has taken me a while to get going with this one.
The sketch and colours were for the first week of February and perhaps should have been used for a Valentine card. We don't send as many Valentines as is done in the USA so I only needed one and already had two. This sketch sat on the side until today when I uncovered this tulip image from Darkroom Door that I coloured some time ago. With the help of some Spellbinders dies this card was born. I left off a sentiment as I thought I could use it for several occasions.

Vintage February Christmas
This is a very quick post of my last of my February Christmas Cards for CCC13. There are simple, vintage style and in non-standard Christmas colours.
Hope it is feeling more like Spring than Winter where you are.

FOSTV113 - Tissue Paper
The Marks Finest Papers FOSTV challenge this week is to use tissue paper. I came across some fancy gold tissue that had been on a gift so this is what I used on this card along with this butterfly image and some sentiments from the Swallowtail set. The gold card used for the backing is also recycled and was run through a Spellbinders embossing folder.
Here is a closer view
There is a prize this week of the set called Lily of the Valley for one lucky participant in our challenge so please join us and have some fun with your tissue.
Thank you for checking in.

Queen Angie - QFTD204
Angie (Oh My Paper on Splitcoast) has become a great long distance friend since we both started working together for Marks Finest Papers. I was thrilled for her this week as she has been away for a well deserved break and has been picked as Queen for the Day at Splitcoast. I love peeking at her gallery and blog and she is a great champion of mixed media and pretty cards.
I love this circle card she produced for someone undergoing surgery and I used it as the inspiration for my card.
I used the Marks Finest Papers set called Huge Blooms with black embossing powder on watercolour paper that I had shaded with distress inks. The blue shading does not show up too well in the photo but is actually prettier in real life.
A variety of dies were used and a little glitter added to the butterfly. Thank you Angie for the inspiration - twice in one week!

JUGS228
Firstly I should thank Angie for the inspiration for this card - Thank you Angie.
I have used 3 background images from Marks Finest Papers on my spring flowers which are all die cuts made with Spellbinders dies as is the trellis. I used Memento inks to stamp with and then other Memento inks to sponge. The sets I used are called Works of Art (Yellow flowers), Love Script (Pink flowers) and Just a Note (Lilac flowers) The sentiment is a pre done one from a bunch given to me some time ago. The border was punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.
I am entering this card in this week's JUGS challenge - JUGS228.
This picture shows the stamping detail.
I am thinking Spring even if it has been raining again today!

VLVFeb Week 2 & High Hopes 205
I made the Birthday card shown below using the VLV sketch for the 2nd week of February and a recently released image from High Hopes called Hummingbird Ring.
I have been checking out Copic colour combination at DoveArt Studios (http://just4funcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/) - a great site and well worth a visit.
The sketch looks like this

My image is coloured with Copics and the flowers are made using Spellbinders dies. The background paper is from Kelly Panacci. I am entering my card in HHC205 which is Birthday Cards using a High Hopes image, VLV Feb Week 2 and Word Art Wednesday as I believe my bright colours would uplift many people. Wishing you a bright and cheerful day.
FOSTV112 - Tent Card
My card today uses 3 Marks Finest Papers sets -
Ivy and Blossoms,
Brick Wall Mini and
In My Den
Our challenge this week is a tent card and there are instructions at Splitcoast if you need them here
I made mine as a Christmas card as we have many friends and neighbours with cats. I used a photo for the back panel as I don't have suitable MFP stamps but I did add the chair from In My Den.
Here is a closer view
I used dies for the window and the cats.
There is a prize this week of the set called Broom Rides for one lucky participant in our challenge so please join us and have some fun with your tent cards.
Wishing you a great week
